Was there ever any plan for a 2012 election parody, like who,s Nailin Paylin?
There could have been so many good ideas for it. Herman Cain as the pizza delivery guy, Mitt Romney as a 50 shades of grey type guy, Michelle Bachmann as nympho.

I think Sarah Palin was just one of those once in a century gifts to comedy and porn. Otherwise, politics just reverts to its natural state as showbusiness for ugly people that no one wants to see fucking.
Perhaps Kristina Rose can do a VEEP parody.

The Republican Primaries were a gift for comedians, and the OP is right that a parody of the Republican Primaries would have been easy.
The problem with an election parody is that each of the fools had a moment in the sun, and each was forgotten two weeks later. Between the fact that Palin has continued to hog the spotlight, and how uniquely perfect Lisa Ann is for the role, there was an alignment of the stars that is unlikely to recur in our lifetimes.
Once the curtains closed on the Republican farce, Act II (the general election) didn't offer much comic fodder. Obama's first primary performance comes to mind.
The most noteworthy event of the general election-- an event that was timed perfectly to be the climax of any recounting of the election-- was tragedy, not comedy. Are you really going to joke about Obama's meeting with Christie after Superstorm Sandy?
