One thing I really like about japanese porn is there's a lot of kissing. like A LOT. And that makes perfectly sense to me, since kissing is one of the most erotic things. In western porn, a lot of times (I'm tempted to say most of the time) it almost doesn't exist, or barely. Am I the only one who thinks this is kind of baffling?
What I don't like is when the chick is blowing the guy and then they kiss each other on the lips, sometimes after he has blown his load on her face and in her mouth. It seems rather unsanitary.

Yeah it can be incredibly frustrating, and unfortunately it's way too common in American porn. I'll regularly check out a random Brazzers or Naught America scene where they'll go an entire 30+ minute scene without ever kissing one time. That kind of stuff will absolutely ruin a scene for me. It's one of the reasons why I started slowly gravitating to lesbian porn over the years. You still risk some of that awkward duck kissing (with performers who are clearly "gay for pay"), but there tends to be a lot more serious kissing on average with those kinds of scenes.
I do know there are couple of specific reasons for the lack of kissing in B/G porn. One big one is bad hygiene unfortunately. I've seen quite a few prominent performers on Twitter complaining about how a lot of guys do a horrible job of taking care of their oral hygiene, so they end up trying to avoid kissing them if possible.
Kissing your partner after sex is a-okay! Think of your cum as an extension of you. You don't have to go full on snow-balling if that's not your thing.
over the years g/g kissing has become the exclusive money shot for me. it must be a certain kind, though - the makers of a lot of newer g/g stuff seem to have realized this demand exists and as a result scenes have become very theatrical slobberfests where it's no less rote than everything else. But if a kiss ever happens between half-pretty women organically as a result of actual excitement, it's straight-up the sexiest thing that ever happens in porn. pretty rare!
Japanese porn is great and often a breath of fresh air as it often really focuses on the eroticism, something sadly lacking from most US/Euro porn these days. There was a distinctive tone change in porn in the early 00's when eroticism was discarded in favour of more extreme sex as people began competing in the internet age. But I feel its been a net loss for the industry that no one generally really focuses on eroticism anymore, something that oddly makes erotica and softcore stuff sexier than actual porn these days.
Although I will mention Deeper do a great job of it from what I've seen. Coco Lovelock and Kenna James did a great threesome scene with this guy that was very erotic and didn't just descend into aggressive chaos.
Guess I'm the odd guy out. I find kissing in porn a turnoff. How can you have passionate kissing when there's not passion in the scenes to begin with. About the only way it would be a turn on for me is if there's actually a relationship. They don't do that in porn today.
I disagree with your premise because I've seen ton of scenes with a lot of passion. Passion doesn't mean "I love you and I want to be forever with you", it means "I'm really into this" and while of course there are performers that work primarily for the money and others that say in interviews that they have to fake a lot, that doesn't mean that there aren't also those who can enjoy what they're doing, maybe not regularly and for every performer but for sure it's not such a rare thing.
