While I am not a fan of forums which have a million sub-forums (as things tend to get lost in their own little corner) this is such major category, it would be great - imo - if it had it's own section. It comprises 80%+ of my own viewing, and I know for others it must be the same - and I suspect there would be more chatter and active posts on the subject if it were not just mixed in with everything else. Don't really agree. My impression - this board is heavily anal / DP oriented, and with so many multi-page threads always on page 1 I personally think interest level for specifically lesbian content is small enough that it get's a bit lost in the main porn pool....but large enough that it would sustain itself (and flourish) in a sub-forum.
Hell maybe there should be 3 sub forums. "Extreme"/gonzo, vanilla bg and lesbian/gg. Even this thread got moved to where as many people wont see it yet the porn pool or w/e its called has a million variations of the same topics.
In the porn pool there are threads on several g/g sites like girlsway, etc and they are usually within the first three pages. There are other forums dedicated to g/g porn though, and maybe that's where you want to go
If there's enough interest I can always add another sub-forum. But I don't want to go down the path of sub forums for every category. Maybe the gay forum should become the LGBTQ forum?
I don't think the gay forum would appreciate a sudden influx of Lesbian related postings. Not an ideal grouping as there is very little to no crossover between those interested in boy/boy scenes and girl/girl scenes.
IMO, girl/girl scenes are not necessarily 'lesbian' scenes. The vast majority of g/g content is created to appeal to men. Discussions about that type of content would stay in the Porn Pool (or wherever they are now). Content produced for lesbian audiences is likely different and might be a better fit in an LGBTQ-themed forum. I don't know really and I don't have a strong opinion about it. For me though g/g != lesbian.
I agree completely. Ricky Greenwood's movies seem far more designed for men whereas Shine Louise Houston's is clearly aimed at the true lesbian audience, but is still accessible to men.
While I agree with that distinction....depositing the latter in the a 'LGBTQ' forum would imo further confused the situation. As you said yourself, lesbian 'queer porn' is "still accessible to men" and more 'mainstream' lesbian content is still accesible to and consumed by real lesbians as well. My original hope/suggestion - when I started this thread - is that all Lesbian content could be concentrated in one single spot (rather than sorting though several pages of the porn pool.) Splitting it up, and having it mixed among the postings in two forums would only make this situation worse :)
I think you are mixing All Girl with Lesbian. There is a distinct difference between the two. Accessibility doesn't matter. There are gay titles that are accessible by straight viewers.
You're the one the brought in the term "accessibility", so I'm confused as to your point... We agree that... - Much of mainsteam girl/girl porn is realistically consumed by straight males (even if it often produced or directed by lesbian/or bisexual persons) - Lesbian "queer porn" is specifically geared towards 'real' lesbian audiences, often as a deliberate counterpoint to the former. But... there is always a whole bunch or stuff that doesn't fit neatly into either category (thinking of Abbywinters/Girlsoutwest type of productions) The point is there is much more crossover between those interested in Girl/Girl and "Lesbian" content...while in my experience there is not much crossover in consumption of both gay content and lesbian content (why would there be?) so I don't really understand why they would be lumped together.
Watching the, albeit limited, activity in the Gay Forum I am thinking more and more that changing it to the LGBTQ forum is a good idea, and could revitalize the forum. People are already creating posts for the T and the B portions of LGBTQ in the forum.
Flash, not a good idea. The reason is obvious why the forum is so low. There's a huge disparity of gay male porn viewers vs. girl-girl and straight porn viewers. Lumping them together is folly. It sounds more like a political decision than a practical one.
That's like having a forum for Chevy enthusiasts and then all of a sudden change it to include BMW's.
I spoke with Steph about this yesterday. We're not going to pursue changing the Gay forum to an LGBTQ forum for a number of reasons. Ultimately, the vast majority of male porn consumers do not know what a lesbian is.
Thank you Jordan1. As a straight male whose adult diet is largely g/g, I agree that this seems more political than anything.
As for "g/g = lesbian", as a g/g collector of many years, my g/g fantasies remain of straight or bi chicks having passionate sex (which is actually close to the reality in adult, which is fine by me). I have nothing against actual lesbians (and, yes, I know what they are, and have known quite a few), but they are not my fantasy. Simple as that. Adult entertainment is best when it's about fantasy. When the labels and PC take over, the fantasy, er, withers.
