| marmac2768 Member 15 Posts 5/05 | I have a lot of videos from many different companies. One of the most useful "extras" on the DVD format is that a company can put a lot of trailers on the disk. RLD, DVSX, Zero Tolerance and Platinum X have used this very well. I really like to be able to see the action before I purchase the movie. However, several of the top companies would rather put a bunch of laimo shit on their "extras" such as photo galleries, interviews and other stuff that I couldn't give a shit about. Devils films only puts trailers on about Gangland and Teen Tryouts and they are very lame at that. Digital Sin is another one that doesn't do very well with their trailers. I think that all of the porn companies ought to put more trailers on their disks. BTW, I have noticed that RLD and Platinum X are reducing the numbers of trailers on their disks lately. C'mon guys! Trailers are a great way of advertising! MarMac [Link] |

IMO, I would think first priority should be given to a good quality movie, then extras pertaining to that movie, then a few trailers of the most recent or most important releases. |

The bonus scene should take far less effort than the trailer and it should give a much better feel for the movie. It's beyond me why more companies don't put a bonus scene or two on their DVDs if there's room there. With how little space they take up, I also think every company should include a cast listing by scene and filmographies for the girl. If you're really impressed by a girl in a movie, odds are you're going to want to see more of her. If a company lets you know who she is and what other movies they've done with her, I think they stand a very good chance of that person watching another of their movies. | M.B. Senior Member 1679 Posts 2/01 | I think Private does this with their sampler discs, just a bunch of trailers with two or three full scenes on it as a bonus. The one thing I've always wanted was a crapload of trailers from 70's and 80's NY grindhouse porn on one disc, nothing but trailers. The movies kind of sucked, but the traiers were highly entertaining, real campy and cultish. Alpha Blue Archives releases these movies on dvd, I just wish they would release an entire disc of trailers. they have a few comps of nothing but trailers on VHS, but nothing on dvd. I'm hoping they do it eventually but I'm not holding my breath. Edited by - M.B. on 8/18/2005 7:59:28 PM |

I'll read reviews and peruse box covers, but getting a preview of the action, or a chance to see how all of the elements are handled (angles, lighting, locations, etc.) is a big, big plus. Especially in today's crowded market. Then again, there can be too much of a good thing. I've seen RLD and Digital Playground discs with 20 plus trailers and the novelty wears off after a while. Wicked titles usually have 3, which never seemed like enough. I'd be happy with between 5 and 10 trailers if space permits. Although the trailers are the first extra feature I watch, I really like the BTS footage. Digital Playground does a great job editing together entertaining, funny featurettes. I have an unusual predicament with my "porn poseur" girlfriend, which I'm sure I will eventually discuss on this board, but even she gets a kick out of their BTS footage. Kane |

| scipio Senior Member 1901 Posts 2/00 | Though even BTS production photos on mainstream discs quickly bore me. Perhaps if I was there, the photos would have a meaning to them, but I wasn't and so most don't. The only exceptions would be if I'm trying to find details of props in a film like Aliens I'm glad I have them but then, that really never happens anyway. Stills on a porn disc? As Zoid said (about trailers) I have the internet for that.
Stills often do the opposite. Case in point: Manhammer 3. See the cover? See Lauren Phoenix dressed in nice black PVC/Fishnets/etc? Funny, but she wears a completely different outfit in her scene. A day-glo mesh top and so on. I know I have better things to do with my time online than sit here downloading trailers for films I may be interested in, so I don't bother. Trailers on a disc, on the other hand, can interest you in something you might not have even considered downloading, though again, keeping them to a few over 5 minutes is the right ratio, more than that and you get bored easily. Many times, "interviews" and "BTS footage" is worse than worthless. Do we care that the camera guy followed starlet x to the shower for 3 minutes? Here's a snippet of my review for Truly Nice Tits 8: (the BTS bit) Trailers would have been a better use of that disc space. For that matter, NOTHING would have been a better use of that disc space, as I wouldnt' have wasted 5 minutes of my life watching it and then writing about it.So anyway, +1 for a few well-edited trailers in a short burst. scipio |

| cv Member My reviews[/url] 594 Posts 7/03 | The DVD extras that I enjoy are behind-the-scenes footage, bonus sex scenes (if they don't suck), and sometimes some of the tease stuff. I really like the behind-the-scenes footage, especially when the girls talk and we can glean a bit about their personalities. With gonzo porn, it's often very difficult to get a feel for what these young women are like. (That's actually one reason I've taken a liking to some of the Shane's World stuff). Trailers are a minor consideration since I can view these from the studio's website. Photo galleries are nearly worthless. Still photography is just so dreary at NTSC resolution. One feature I enjoy are the scene pairings slates; Jules Jordan does a nice job with this. Some other directors are pretty good at putting an on-screen graphic when a new girl's scene starts; Brandon, for example, does this. |

For instance you could see a screen shot of your fav babe with a 12" cock up her ass and think that it will be a hot flick but when you actually watch the film your realise that the scene she features in is crap. However with trailers you get to see the intensity of the scene. Just my 2 cents ;-) Lazenby Avid Viewer Of Hard Rough Gonzo Anal Sex. ADT GOLD TRADER!!! |
| marmac2768 Member 15 Posts 5/05 | Many times, "interviews" and "BTS footage" is worse than worthless. Do we care that the camera guy followed starlet x to the shower for 3 minutes? I feel the same way about BTS stuff. Some of it is rather amusing, but a lot of it really takes away from the eroticism of the video itself. They show the girls going from "moaning and groaning" as if they really are into the sex, to showing them acting like it is just a job . . . which we all know it is, but it really ought to be just that . . . left behind the scenes. Very few times does the BTS extra add something to the video. As for trailers taking up so much of the disk, if you put 10 trailers at an average of 2 minutes (while most trailers are about 90 seconds) you will add 20 minutes of good hot sex to a video. For those who want a "bonus" scene or a longer video . . . the producers are in the business of making money and that would cost them in production costs and salaries, while trailers would give them a venue of advertising. I just like being able to see what the video looks like BEFORE I spend $20 bucks on a disk. |
