This topic is in response to the recent "Why O Why" post about Max Hardcore and I feel it deserves it's OWN topic. It's a question that I've wanted to ask for a while. I would like to hear from all you Ed Powers fans out there on the reason why you purchase his videos.
I used to listen to his radio show. He sounds like a nice guy and is polite with the people calling in.
But the guy looks like a disgusting slob and the majority of the women he has in his videos are SKANKS! I look at the boxcovers for his videos and most of these women couldn't even make it on the cover of National Geographic! And yet to listen to this guy get on the radio and BRAG about the thousands of women that he's had sex with, you'd think he was Brad Fucking Pitt!! Hasn't anyone ever told this guy that 99% percent of the women he puts in his videos are pigs??!!
But his videos are BIG sellers. SOMEONE out there is buying them and I'd like to know why. O.K., I can understand a 'normal' hard-working guy wanting to watch a video with 'normal' women having sex. But my feeling is, if I'm gonna dish out my hard earned cash for a porno, it damn well better have hot-looking women in it!!
This is why when I see a reveiw of an adult video, I don't really care what the reveiwer thinks on how 'hot' the sex is. I check to see WHO'S in the video and if I'm not a fan of any of the women, I'm not gonna buy it regardless of how 'hot' the sex is.
So please tell me, Ed Powers Fans. Why do you buy his videos how can you make this guy such a huge star??

I've rented some Ed Powers videos over the years. Sometimes it is refreshing to watch amateurs and girl next door types new to the industry rather than pros who have starred in 100 films. Also, Ed has often featured Asian women, who I enjoy watching. Ed has had more than his fair share of very attractive girls, certainly not just skanks.

Although Ed may look like a "slob" as you say, I never rent pornos for the guy as a performer. So that doesn't matter too much. I may rent something because of a guy director - who performs - such as Rocco or Max Hardcore. That's because these movies present a particular style.

My biggest complaint about Ed Powers is the poor technical quality -- especialy camera lighting and angles.

I find Ed disgusting and repellent, both in appearance and when he opens his mouth. Also, I have little interest in young women on their first excursion away from the trailer park. So I don't watch any Ed product anymore, not even if a starlet I like makes an appearance.
I don't like Randy West much either, but I will watch an occasional Up n' Cummers to see an actress I particularly like. But I refuse to give Ed my business, and I wonder time and again how he manages to be so successful. So I look forward to seeing what others have to say on this topic.
I'll stick with watching the Czech and Hungarian girls in Evil Angel and Anabolic/Diabolic movies.

Speelie, why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel?! And I thought MY post might be too harsh! Seriously though, it's hard for me to disagree with anything you've said.
I also enjoy the European Evil Angel/Anabolic stuff. But the women in the Private videos are fucking gorgeous too!!
They always seem to get an entire new cast of women with each video. It's almost like watching a high-budget Amateur film since we've never seen these women before and probably won't see them again. I think Private puts out the best DVDs for the money right now.
