^I think his point is that a Clockwork Orange and Midnight Cowboy were both rated "X." Either way, porn films aren't theatrically released and that already excludes them from Oscar consideration. Furthermore, porn is still considered taboo and even the best made porn film would likely be locked out. Steve McQueen's (the director of "12 Years a Slave") "Shame" was a superb film that IMO was ignored by the Academy Awards due to its very explicit sexual content, so the chances of actually pornographic films, even if they were to be released in theaters, receiving Oscar nominations is nonexistent. It also seems to me that even the most well made porn features, such as "Wasteland", are below mediocre when compared to even the least popular Oscar nominees. ^That's an exaggeration. What was the last film about the AIDS crisis or World War 2 to win Best Picture or sweep the Oscars? What did Ben-Hur, Titanic, and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King have to do with any of those topics? The Artist, Slumdog Millionaire, The Departed and A Beautiful Mind are just a few of the Academy Award winning films in recent memory that do not fall under the categories you mentioned.
True, I should have replaced World War 2 with War in General 2013 : 12 Years A Slave- Slavery 2012 : Argo- War 2010 : Kings Speech- War 2009 : Hurt Locker- War But lets be honest, If Norbit is nominated for anything, It is not about the "best" or even good. We could honestly go on for hours about how the Oscars suck TBH.

Argo is not a war film and The King's Speech is no more a war film than The Special Relationship, W., Nixon, and other films about wartime heads of state, each of which are considered historical dramas. In my opinion, among recent films only Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac has merited that kind of acclaim, though for all of the fuss made about Trier's use of porn doubles there's precious little actual porn in that film. Come to think of it, the Serbian film Klip also features unsimulated sex. As a whole the movie is a mixed bag, but I do think that Isidora Simijonovic deserved a Best Actress nomination for her performance.

^ Agreed. I've never watched any porn award shows and I'm pretty sure I don't want to. I'd watch the porn Razzies though.

^PBTV's The Stash is as close as I've seen to a porn razzies. One of their awards went to Joanna Angel and she even showed up to claim it. ________________________________________________ Please ID these girls from PlayboyTV's Foursome show Edited by - hoochimama on 6/19/2014 4:42:51 PM
