Why are so many titles from Platinum X discontinued? Major series like Good Source of Iron, Baker's Dozen aren't for sale anymore. Other series like Cum Guzzlers and Tear Me A New One have many out of print volumes. This just scratches the surface of what they've stopped production on. What is going on with this company and why would they stop selling so many popular titles?

Because they can't sell enough copies to justify the cost of producing/distributing the DVD's. Which is great argument for online distribution, which would be the perfect solution; these companies are missing out big time. You might try your luck at Ebay and other places dealing in used videos.

I know that Brandon Iron has been getting the rights to some of the movies that he originally released through Platinum X. He is re-releasing them through JM productions.
I am not sure exactly how many he has reacquired and re-released as of yet because I already own a lot of Platinum X DVDs from the 2003 - 2007 timeframe. Those were the days when porn was at its nastiest in my opinion.

You can check Brandon Irons blog for updates on when he releases a new title. 50 to 1 #3 is listed on the June 11th update.
You can also check out Pornstar Network. A lot of the titles you are likely looking for can be found there in addition to new content.

I've re-released I LOVE IT ROUGH vols. 1-3 and 50 to 1 vols. 1-3 (with volume 4 coming very soon) through JM Productions. Other series will follow. It would have been nice to get a check from Platinum X in the last 12 months in order to help pay the costs of re-editing, re-printing, and re-authoring the titles without their logo. No worries.

That explains some of it, but lots of the out of print titles aren't by Brandon Iron. Tear Me A New One 1 and 3, Cum Guzzlers 3 and 4, Send It Down 1, 1 Lucky Fuck 2 are just some of the titles I wanted but aren't available anymore. I don't buy ninja1's explanation. If they can't sell enough of those titles then what can they sell? Those are popular titles and themes.
Glad to know that GSOI and Baker's Dozen will be re-released. I'm surprised you didn't start with those series as they are the ones you're best known for.

I put out I LOVE IT ROUGH #4 through JM Prods so I wanted to fill in the gaps and re-release the first 3 in the series. When Platinum X stopped paying, my goal was to get back on track one series at a time. Hindsight being 20/20, I'm sorry I didn't start with JM in the first place.

I thought Platinum X was just a sub-label of Red Light? Didn't Red Light rip off many of their directors and performers (including, Brandon)? I believe Michael Stefano talks about this on his ADT podcast.

I directed a few movies for Red Light District and was always paid for my work. No issue there. I never owned product at Red Light District and I'm grateful for the work and the good times I had being in their movies.
It surprised me when several sites listed my Platinum X titles as being "discontinued" or "out of stock" as I received an inventory list this week showing 37,639 dvds were in the Platinum X warehouse. I assume a Brandon Iron museum or shrine was in the works but I cannot confirm this. There are also rumours that copies of Baker's Dozen Volume 9 were used as coasters at a recent party. I was not invited so this is only hearsay.
My point? I'm having a contest! First prize is a copy of any movie you want. Second prize is 37,638 other movies. Good luck.

At one point, the owner of Red Light District owned Platinum X. The offices were in the same building.
