I was looking my favorite pornstars twitters lately and I found out that it got suspended! Then later I was looking another one and I saw it got suspended too! So I want to know why so many pornstars twitter accounts get suspended? It is not because they suspend their account themselves. It is because they did something against twitter rules. Is it because they posted too much porn pics? And by the way what is twitter policy about pornstars and what they can or can't post on twitter?

Mimefreak mentioned this on his timeline, but I don't know the reasons. I wonder if they didn't designate their Twitters sensitive material. If they don't do that, then people can report them, and considering most of what pornstars share is NSFW, they would probably get reported a lot. However, I don't know that anyone would get suspended for that. I think when Twitter receives something like 3 reports, they just automatically change that person's twitter to "sensitive content" - basically this hides all their posts for default Twitter users who didn't change their settings to allow sensitive material.
Soo... suspensions probably come from reports by agencies or companies that did not authorize certain images being used. IDK.
But a lot of pornstars have mentioned being shut down and just having to start over. It happened to Jada Stevens I think.

There's also a lot of fake profiles out there. I think I just saw a new Paige Turnah twitter show up. I'm 99% sure it's fake. Those will likely get suspended.

A reason is that it's not possible to use explicit pictures as a header. You can post all explicit stuff you want, but if you use a explicit header you risk that your account can be suspended. Many don't know this simple rule.

I think a lot of them get shut down because they use nudity or sexual images as their profile or header photos. You can post porn pics in your feed as much as you want, just not as your header where anyone who is not a follower can still see it.

^Yeah, I heard that is a common reason because a lot of them think they are following the rules but are not aware of the ones about the header. I still think it's unfair that pornstars are not allowed to have verified accounts. And you think twitter is bad, there are some horror stories about pornstars and instagram.

Performers are allowed to have verified accounts, you just have to be really famous to get there. Alexis Texas is verified. Nikki Benz is verified. Lisa Ann is verified. James Deen is verified. Generally speaking, unless you come into the industry with some level of fame, you have to get to the level of performers like those before Twitter will bother with verifying you.
And even then it's a crap shoot. Lisa is, but Julia Ann isn't. James is, but Manuel Ferrara isn't. Nikki is, but Rachel Starr isn't.

Interesting, didn't know that. I'm guessing the rules are stricter than for those in the mainstream entertainment field, where c-list level celebs can be verified.

I don't think ot was coincidence that a bunch of performers accounts were shut down at the same time, including Allie Haze and AJ Applegate. Maybe Twitter was trying to screen out all the phony pornstar accounts they are riddled with.

Rumour has it twitter is cleaning up shop to make it a more family-friendly platform, now that they have the NFL streaming deal.
You can expect a lot more porn accounts getting shut down soon.

You got the point. What would happen if twitter wants to become so family friendly that they decide to shut down every pornstar accounts? Or simply not allow to put explicit pictures on twitter?

Same reason some cable stations don't show nudity or allow profanity in their TV content when legally they could .. they want to attract big name advertisers who are adverse to mature content. They may also be afraid of adult entertainers using their forum to attract clients for escorting. Remember how the feds went after Craigslist for allowing escort ads. Lot of pornstars would post their "touring" schedules on social media.

Time to start looking for Twitter alternative, they've been going downhill ever since they sold out.

This is a relatively minor but revealing example of the poor and hypocrical treatment of sex workers, even though porn is legal and widely available!

Or it could be that many of those pornstars were notified by Twitter via email about being in violation of policy, but because pornstars probably get swamped with spam and fanmail, they never noticed.
From what I read, if a person has NSFW or "sensitive" content on their Twitter, what's interesting is that Twitter doesn't automatically suspend or shut them down. They just change that user's settings to being designated as may contain sensitive content, after the 3rd report by someone else.
So I'm sure they try warning people in advance of suspending them. But of course, even if you have the foresight to go into your settings and toggle it to "contains sensitive content", as has been pointed out, if your header is NSFW, it must still violate their policy. I think that's fair for Twitter to moderate, considering headers show up without visiting that person's twitter, you just have to hover your cursor over their @mention and a little snapshot window pops up.
Solution is pretty simple: just keep your header clean. But maybe they didn't know, or they weren't notified in advance either. I think if people report you, you should at least be notified so you can fix it.
