I give BIG bonus points to girls who have beautiful skin with little to no makeup, so I'm PERPLEXED by the typical "looks" girls go through in their short porn careers.
I'll make this simple:
Year One: typically in their late teens, early 20's, they have that CUTE & INNOCENT look going for them from being new to the porn industry, looking like NORMAL girls you see on the street every day, with modest make-up and the GIRL NEXT DOOR look.
Year Two: they get the hang of porn and start to POLISH their image, often losing the BABY FAT they had in year one, PLUCKING their eyebrows, etc. They trade some HINTED sexuality for OVERT sexuality in their appearance. Their makeup is more professional, but still just HIGHLIGHTS their face.
Year Three: girls still in their EARLY TWENTIES pile foundation makeup on their face with a TROWEL, completely HIDING their skin's true appearance.
Two possibilities:
1. Girls in porn don't take good care of themselves and their skin goes south.
2. They do it for the same reason they get implants and botox: a mistaken belief a NEW and "better" look will get them more money.

Both your reasons may be correct. The other possibility is that whatever company a girl is working with hires a MUA that piles makeup on the girl like it's going out of style. I don't normally have much say when it comes to how they do my makeup, so some days I barely have anything on and sometimes I look like a 12 year old that got into her mother's makeup drawer and slathered it all over her face.

I have seen some of your EARLY videos but not your RECENT ones. You looked VERY FRESH in the early work, a PERFECT EXAMPLE of the young girl with great skin that looked GREAT with LITTLE TO NO MAKEUP. I will have to check out your more recent work for comparison.
Can you give me some examples of scenes where the MUA used HEAVY makeup vs. VERY LITTLE? It would be great to see one of your scenes with little makeup, to confirm my impression it isn't NECESSARY!

"Quizzy" I have to say and to all the porn stars that read this. Bring on the makeup. It is one of the things that makes a woman and woman. It is just like lingerie, something that accentuates the all ready sexy female form so us guys go even more ga-ga and I do. Everybody says I love the natural look and all this other PC bullshit like a women looks like Bozo every time she puts it on. I think the sexiest thing is being with a women right before a night on the town and see her go from cute and cuddly before a shower then bam with a sexy dress, some stockings, shoes, garter, jewlery, her nails done as well as her hair all complemented with the perfect amount of make up depending on where you are going. It's where that expression "DAMN" came from. Seeing your gal come out of the room lookin like a million bucks. It is like nothing else on earth. Thank god for the female form in all its forms and styles is all I can say! It's one of my favorite parts of the category of porn I love "Lipstick" Lesbians!!

The less makeup, the better IMHO. A little isn't bad, but I concur with Inquisitor, most of the time, It's way overdone. The closer a girl can be to her "natural look", the better.

I ENJOY looking at a woman that looks GREAT in full makeup, but it much more RARE for a woman to look great with MINIMAL makeup -- just lipstick and maybe a bit of eye makeup -- adding some COLOR and CONTRAST in the traditional places to give her the best LOOK for scene's setting, rather than completely covering a face that CAN'T stand up to scrutiny on its OWN.
But to get back to THE question: why do so many girls with fresh faces when they ENTER the business at 18, 20, 22, just a COUPLE years later are doing scenes with CAKED-ON makeup covering their ENTIRE face?
Is it that during that time they move from ENTRY-LEVEL porn productions to more ESTABLISHED-STAR producers that use MUA's that go for that trashy PORNSTAR-VIXEN look?
