I guess I've probably seen so much of the source material that there's not much need for me to look at these. I'm surprised Wicked hasn't done more star-based comps, Vivid-style.
This whole thing that Wicked's doing with 4 hr Comps symbolizes that the feature market is struggling big time. Wicked is obviously having tro¨ble moving units so this is the way to earn some quick cash. I remember Wicked said a couple years back that putting out compilations makes the product weaker and brings the value of the company down. They said they would never release Jenna comps and now they are 3 volumes deep into the anthology series. However there still smart enough not to release a complete Jenna compilation with every single boy/girl scene on it like Vivid does with every star.
Maybe it's me but I don't think the feature market is struggling. They are closer to the mainstream in terms of not offending viewers. I just don't see how movies with 100 men gangbangs and extreme facials will ever out do porn that has basic (and a little nasty sex) and models.
Features will only die when America moves far more left in sexual preference. I don't see it happening this century.
What's wrong about comps? You get many scenes for the money and they're often star- or categorie-based. I have seen many comps and must say that the ones from VCA and these new ones from Wicked are the best on the market, especially for the picture quality. For example 'Strokin To The Oldies - Vanessa Del Rio' from VCA is the best comp of Miss Del Rio I have ever seen. The digital re-mastering of this sometimes very old material is great. And it's 4 hours long!
