Let's suppose he makes it big in mainstream with his renarration of the Báthory myth, grossing 15 million dollar at the box office.
Will Eli Cross keep making porn?
I say yes. He's a pornographer wholeheartedly.

Juha,
I certainly appreciate your hypothetical confidence in me, but the scenario you've mentioned is so remote it's not even a realistic fantasy. I seriously doubt our mainstream version of Blood will ever be anywhere near a "box office." It will be a straight-to-DVD-and-cable release, hopefully being distributed by Warner's Dark Castle label.
All that being said, there are days I think it would be great to get out of porn. And then I work on something mainstream or rub shoulders with mainstream and think why did I want to get back into this again? These people are a nightmare!
Having worked in both arenas, I will tell you unequivocally that the people in adult (with some exceptions) are, as a rule, less crazy and less difficult than the people in mainstream. Crew from the adult world certainly work a helluva lot harder.
There's an old joke (one of dozens) that dates back to when the Teamsters strike shut down Hollywood (similar to what happened with the writers in the winter, and what's coming with SAG)... it goes "How can you tell the Teamster's kid on the playground? He's the one sitting in a folding chair watching the other children play."
On a big mainstream show, that pretty much applies to everyone on the crew.
In the end it all comes down to time. As these projects -- both mainstream and adult -- get bigger and bigger, they require more prep and post-production time. Upload took up a frantic eight months of my life, and really needed ten. Blood will probably take longer. Unlike most directors who end up getting close to working in mainstream (or those who succeed like Greg Dark), I'm not trying to hide my connections to porn. That alone (along with lack of luck, talent, foresight, financing, resolve or any of a dozen other things) could put the kibosh on any kind of a mainstream career.
We'll see. All I can say is I hope this is a decision I have the chance to make.

Hey Eli, I've been wondering about this: Not to take anything away from you, but why were you eligible for the AVN awards' best non-sex role for Corruption and Upload? In Corruption you got a blowjob and in Upload you ate a pussy. How is that "non-sex" at all?

I think that Eli can pretty much direct whatever he wants to at this point because he is that good. I just watched him direct part of his latest SexZ Pictures movie 'Hillary Scott: Icon' and from what I saw it looked pretty spectacular. Hillary looked beautiful with her new hair-do a cute blond, shorter vibe. I couldn't take my eyes off of her pretty fact until she was flipped over and two dicks entered her ass at the same time during a wild group sex scene.
To Wusshater: I think during Corruption it was a stunt cock but I'm not sure if it was a stunt tongue in Upload- ha! Maybe Eli will answer that one once he recovers from this last porn shoot. They still have a final shoot date this week. Porn will still be a big staple at SexZ Picures but look for some really interesting things in the future because Bo Kenney is a real maverick in the best sense of the word.

A new movie from Eli Cross: Wetwork. Sounds interesting and has a great cast.
Gotta love the porn blurbs: "With three anals, a beautiful San Francisco location, and the budget of a mainstream film, this is Eli Cross at his best."
Three anals tho.

Cross is one of the few directors around still trying to make ambitious features, good to see he has something new out.

^ Good for Steven St. Croix he always does turn in an outstanding acting performance especially when it's a film for Vivid.
