It's a politicians project and most Europeans seem just not to care about enlargment. But I think we European porn fans should do so: I am afraid this just brings bad results. I am really afraid Czech and Hungarian girls go to work to West instead of flocking into the local porn talent agencies. And a new wall in the East will prevent models from former Soviet Union to look for work in Budapest or Prague.

It's only 4 months to go from now and I really wonder how the porn business fights this tread??!!

I fear a drying out talent pool and a steep rise in prices.

What about penis enlargement? Wouldn't it affect porn even more?

I was rather thinking of the old EU-member states. And there most of these girls will not work as porn actresses I am afraid. Or maybe - but than porn dvds will cost much more money for the end consumer.

Thinking about all this I am really not pro-EU.

Zander69,

you should better inform yourself before confusing us here. Although in the long run you might be right, there are a couple of reasons why things will not change very fast.

1. They citizens of the new member states do not yet have the same rights to work in other EU countries for quite a while. I believe this will change in 6 to 10 years only.

2. Many of the girls already work for Western companies and earn quite some money that way. This will not change quickly.

3. Life in general is still much cheaper in the East. Therefore it makes perfect sense to work for Western companies but stay in the East to enjoy the lower cost of living there.

4. The girls working in porn today are probably not all waiting for different jobs and even if they were they would face tough competition in the West.

5. The old member states have done quite a lot to protect their citizens from cheap competition coming from the East.

Conclusion: We will have still quite some time to enjoy the beautiful talent from places like Prague, Budapest and other places. New talent is born every day. The money they can make in porn still beats most other jobs.

porn should not be about exploiting the poverty or lack of job opportunities of other people.

I really hope joining the european union will boost the
economic sytems of our new neighbours in the long run.

Frankly speaking i couldnt care less about the profit margin of
porn producers.

But i know for sure, there is enough cake for everybody.

in fact it might be even easier for our jet-set beauties
to head over to La La Land without needing a visa.

Ok, Brasilfan, I should get better informed about the whole thing you are right. But what about closing the Eastern borders of EU? How can all those girls from Russia, Ukraine, Romania etc. keep on flocking into the Budapest and Prague porn talent agencies? Here at least I really see some bigger problem.

Zander69,

if the talent can not come to the agents, the agents will come to the talent. They will find ways. I am pretty sure.

As we cannot change the injustices of the world, I really think porn consumers should not be too preoccupied with alleged exploitation issues. And besides, who knows for which exacts reason every single girl does porn.

As for not caring about producers profit, I suggest you think twice. Every industry needs profits to carry on. I cannot believe its in your interest that porn films cannot be produced anymore for lack of funds.

I hope you are right. Still, for now, I dont see any signs of such a move. Never heard of porn agencies in Romania for instance.

Actually as I understand it, this will vary from country to country, for instance workers from some of the new member states will be able to work straight away in UK but not in other "old" EU countries.

As we all know, it takes money to travel, be it pornographer or 'talent'. Those that seek shall find, it just depends on whether or not you got the cash to get the goods. The only 'wrong' is that some very lovely and beautiful European girls will NEVER get STATSIDE because of their lack of finances. Shame that they wont have a chance to earn some decent/good money like they should be able to. lates.

von_swine, all I know about prices and work ethics of those European girls in question, it will well reward US-producers travel cost investment. On the talent's side money is a bigger problem, but after having got the chance to work for some porn company at home almost every girl could afford a trip to the USA. The big problem is obtaining the visa, though.

If visa issues could be solved, girls from the new member states (with endangered porn prospectives I am afraid) would travel to work in Porn Valley like their Western collegues like Katja Kassin or Renee Pornero already do. What pays for Germans/Austrians will sure pay for Czechs/Hungarians.

We should always try to. i firmly believe the European Union may have some impact to resolve injustices.
Your right, this always comes in my way
to make you smile
Honestly, wouldn´t it be great to have some more girls who
are really "into" it? not all about cold cash mentality.
wishful thinking i know...
Well, as i said. there's enough cake for everybody
The porn biz is a multi-million $$$ industry.
imho it's much better to raise the standard of living for a whole country than to worry about a porn producer loosing some bucks

That being said, i am 100% pro-EU.

X-Ray, I am not really worried about the porn producers. I am more concered about porn consumers, actually. But without profit on the producers side, we consumers will soon have nothing to watch anymore.

In historical terms EU-enlargement is certainly bringing back justice to Europe. The only thing I am afraid is Budapests and Pragues position as European Porn El Dorados.

Balabala just posted a link to a very informative French article in another tread. I link to that one, so that everybody interested can read about the porn crisis that seemingly has already arrived in Budapest.

I am afraid EU-regulations will deepen that crisis. And Prague will soon fellow. And apart from one cited obscure French photographer moving to Kiev for search of new girls, there is no alternative Euro-porn capital visible.

EU-enlargement on the whole might be not that bad. But for porn fans/producers/actresses its dramatic, I believe.

...Unless we are all prepared to pay a much higher price for porn films, that is. And I cannot immagine customers accepting such a sharp price rise - neither here in Europe, nor in US where still most end consumers of Euro porn live.

Wouldn't that weed out the really bad productions though?

There's already too much porn released for us to watch, so even with a big fall in production we'd still have plenty to see, and the ones that would survive would be the best!

A much more important question for me is:"Will porn affect European enlargement?" Well, enlargement by the European male, that is.
