Let me just throw this one out there, but would anyone else like to see Five Star put an end to this Treasure Chest promotion and move on to some new offers. It has been a long time since they have had a good coupon. I would much rather have a small discount than free DVDs that I don't really want.

I hear you there. I don't want to really rag on FiveStar, because they're the best company I've ordered from yet, but yeah, the free DVDs I got (it was a FREE choice, so I'm partly at fault) really stunk. I thought of trying to trade them here, but was afraid of getting laughed at! ;)
I ended up just throwing them away...

What can I say? We were had...and FiveStar saved on it's monthly garbage bill, too, I'll bet. Just wait 'em out, or try some of the other great deals you see here. Eventually Fivestar will come up with something else.

I've got some good dvds from Five Stars offer. I just hate it because it makes my credit card bill go up. Hmmmm. If I buy one more DVD I get one more free.... Now what do I need?.... Five Star, you're EVIL, wonderful people.

Like Astro, I find myself tending to order -more- dvds per order, to bump myself up to the next extra freebie dvd.

I do tend to cap my orders at $120 though, as there's no additional carrots for ordering more than $120 worth per order, and I tend to wait until there are at least 2-3 half-decent looking things on the freebies list.

As to the shite ones, sell them off on ebay and the like for enough money to buy a brand-new Private dvd.. you know it makes sense...

cheers,

Woot! Additional Carrots!

I don't know if it's anything ot do with this topic showing up here, but I was just perusing 5-Star's site, and noticed that they're now offering up to 5 freebies for orders up to $150.

I know they're not the best DVD's, but Clay and Yungturk you'll find that people on ebay -will- buy them if you don't like them and can be bothered selling them that way, or you can use them as swap fodder - some smut shops who exchange DVDs (they all do around here, so I assume some do over there).

At any rate, it works for me.

cheers,

scipio

I for one prefer the Fivestar promotion to coupons. And as has been mentioned above, the promotion DOES work for Fivestar by getting people to buy that one extra DVD to get above those freebielimits.

Anyone but me notice that FiveStar seems to be "Out of Stock" on a *LOT* of titles. Just an observation - not a criticism. I've been a big FiveStar fan in the past, but if I can't get what I want from them, then I need to cast a wider net.
