Does anyone think that PSP porn and ipod porn will be a big thing? Would any of you buy the PSP versions of porn movies? I was on a popular retail site and saw PSP versions of Spiderman, etc and thought that was really interesting.
In just a few short weeks, video podcasting has already proved to be an wonderfully effective tool for introducing our work to new audiences! Our films are very well suited for serializing, so we've been podcasting serialized episodes of Marie and Jack: A Hardcore Love Story.
We've just put up Episode IV, but already I can see the effect, both in sales, and in notes from people saying, "At first I figured I'd just wait and watch all the episodes, but finally I just had to find out how it turned out (and what they look like fucking) so I just decided to order the DVD."

There needs to be reliable and cheap wireless networking before I hop on any portable device bandwagon, and that includes cell phones.
Right now it's just a way to sell you another copy of a movie you already own... and will buy again once HD-DVD or Blue Ray becomes reality.
I'm in a "what do I really need" attitude.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Tony, in the same vein of what you write I feel that PSP and Ipod porn can be great promotional branding tools, but I don't think that the sites that want to charge money to download little clips will make alot of $$$$.
Certainly it's not something that I'd pay for. And the very few things that I might part with money to see are not anything I'd wander around with on my iPod for heaven's sake! What am I going to do? Whack off on the train while I'm riding into the city?
OTOH, because of the way our films are constructed, I think there's a lot one could enjoy in relative comfort while commuting – and then hopefullly decide, "You know what. I want to see the juicy parts of this film, full-screen, at home, on my sofa, with my sweetie." That's the idea at least, and it's not costing us anything to try. (I'm doubtful that offering M&J in tiny, episodic form is cutting into sales at all, in fact I think it's helping. And if it turns out we think it has, it's just one of 10 titles. We can adjust.)
The most important thing is it gives us a way to get the word out. The biggest battle for us has always been, and continues to be, the perception that we're "amateur" or that the talk and the hype is good, but the videos are just the same as everything else. I think there are a lot of people who really like the idea of a sexy movie, but have just been burned too many times to fork over $25 on the hope that this time it will be different. Podcasting is just giving us another way to let people try before they buy. If it works for Hillshire Farms, I think it can work for us!
To be honest with you, I'm shocked that videos in general are popular for iPods and PSPs. Playing games and listening to music I can understand, but who wants to watch a movie, TV show or even a 5-minute porn clip on a 2-inch screen?
Very interesting, I had to laugh about "practice sex".. And I was amused that they find the whole position changing and face cuming, when working together, ridiculous as a married couple.
I would propose to place a link for player like VLC(all platforms, nearly all codec's) or a site with codec's, because many people use "Windows Media Player 9" drop the .m4v file and nothing happens, besides an error.
And I found the http://comstockfilms.libsyn.com/ link better than the feed. I'm not familiar with feeds and when you click "no" to subscribe, you are left on the page. So including direct links on the feed page could help, too

I don't think, they are big thing. I was never a fan of UMD discs and generating your own movies for PSP and their Memory Stick is pain. So it's not practical, and won't be a breakthrough. But nevertheless having a handy "Playboy Magazine" with his own light supply is every teenager's dream.
Maybe it's just cause I live in the part of the country that has a viable public transportation system, but I'm not surprised.
It's about 3 hours by train or motorcoach from our seaside estate to our Mahattan penthouse, and more than once I've humped my laptop along for the sole purpose of watching a movie during the trip. When they come out with a 16:9 video iPod, I'll probably get one, regarding the smaller screen size as a far trade for the smaller size.
The autogyro went tits up after the dot com crash, but there is regular helicopter and seaplane service from Lower and Midtown Manhattan, but the Jitney is the way those-in-the-know go back and forth; except in the Summer, when the two lane highway that serves the area becomes a parking lot. Then it's the train or nothing.
I expect to see a lot of video iPods this Summer, especially in the hands of the dinks getting on the train in Sayville. No doubt their's will be playing episodes of Damon and Hunter!
I picked up a Video Ipod recently just to check it out. I think the display is impressive enough that people will use it on trains, in class, in their bedrooms or wherever else they feel like fucking off. Will it ever take off for porn? I doubt it.
Will pay-for-porn podcasting take off? Certainly, it already has. Take a look at hotmovies.com. Video Ipods/Podcasting is just a different way to accomplish the same thing that has been going on for a few years. Video downloads of scenes is nothing new. I suspect more people will watch the paid-for-porn-podcasts on their computers than their Video Ipods.
Okay, what I don't get is why anyone would want to watch a movie on such a small screen, its okay for games and stuff but movies are something else. And these things are really made for taking out with you, but would anyone of you really start watching porn in public ?
The last person who did that got his ass arrested and convicted because of me. But he was watching child porn photos in a mall café. So I just kicked his ass and when the security came to stop me they saw why I did it and let me go before they called the cops. So that's a bit different.
Regardless of that sorry story why would you watch porn on a small screen in public. If their is a cable that allows you to connect your psp to a TV then that would be more interesting.

It's a way people can watch porn at work without getting caught. No evidence on their computer - it's all in their pod. For whatever reasons people seem to really want to watch porn at work.
