My point was that the old links will be broken and replaced with new and different ones, which in my experience is very bad for SEO, unless there is a 301 Redirect in the htaccess (which seems impractical). Maybe this is not a concern for you.

There are 301 redirects in place for all of the old URLs. Not htaccess modifications required.
