I have Comcast high speed internet 16Mbps, a Motorola surfboard cable modem and a Lynksys WRT54G wireless router using WEP. The wireless router was added to the system many years back due to a roommate needing wireless access to the system. Since he moved out I haven't really used the wireless router but in the last week decided to put my Playstation 3 online, which uses wireless, and I'm adding a Roku Netflix Player, which also uses wireless. When setting up the Playstation 3 I found that the signal varies from 50% to 60% where it is located and that is the same place that the Roku box is going to be. From reading about the Roku box it is recommended that I have 2.2Mbps which the router should be fully capable of as it is 54Mbps. I remember from when my roommate used it that the lower the signal strength the slower the connection but it has been several years since he lived here and I can't remember what signal strengths equaled what connection speeds. I also don't have a wireless laptop or desktop that I can use to determine what they are. Should 50 to 60% equal at least 2.2Mbps or should I add a repeater? If I need to add a repeater, which one should work well that doesn't require a wireless computer to access it to set it up?
