Okay now, a few days have passed since roughly three years ago when I bought and reviewed a Max Hardcore DVD, Planet Max 2 , and at the time, I bought it due to rave reviews over his directing ability, and at that time, I was just getting into porn, reviewing, but more importantly, buying it and watching it. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, basically blowing my mind.
Cut ahead three years, when I got an email from Exquisite Multimedia’s new publicist, a familiar name, Mitzi Connett, who was the publicist for Elegant Angel, and someone who had used several quotes of mine in press releases. Shocked was I to see the email/press release in my inbox, since I had only reactivated the account a week, or two, before. I checked out their website after receiving the email, and was I ever more shocked to see that Max Hardcore distributed his DVDs through them.
Now to be honest, I had been considering checking out some of his DVDs, having checked out the trailers on his website, and liking them, before I got that email, but I never came around to it. So when Mitzi shot me another email, saying that Max wanted me to check out some of his movies, since I had made note of Max’s distribution through them, I said sure. I confirmed my new shipping address, and a couple of days ago, I received the two DVDs, both of which will be reviewed shortly.
Now the purpose of this thread…
I am not typing this out because I did get two screeners, or because I want more, I just wanted to point out that all the hate I wasted on Max could’ve been better directed elsewhere, in a more positive direction. I have scanned through both just a day ago, and can safely say that my tastes in porn are much different now, having seen over a couple hundred pornos since, several of which through the three years that have passed were from Joey Silvera, who really opened my eyes to rougher/edgier porn with his Service Animals series.
Plus this can also serve as an early warning message, from me to all review readers, saying don’t adjust your eyes when you see some Max Hardcore DVDs reviewed by me… be on the lookout for the two, maybe someday more, Max Hardcore DVD reviews by me. (And though both are the censored for the US versions, I do plan on buying the Euroversions, of course when I get an extra $120+ lying around, and will update those reviews with what was missed, which is quite a lot, when I do. )
Now the question some of you may be thinking… am I fan of Max’s? My answer…too early to tell with certainty, but I can honestly say I don’t hate him, and that’s the first step.
Wrapping this all up, with the point, I am trying to make… people, and attitudes change, I know I have… that’s all I wanted to say for now, (well that, and I didn’t want to put all of this inside my reviews).

Michael, glad to see your porn horizons have been expanding! I've been a fan of Max since he first came out and his stuff has always been hit or miss for me but I still consider him to be a major force in the adult industry. I know he's been concentrating on his current work but it would be nice if he could release his massive back catalog on DVD one of these days, fully digitally remastered and given the proper treatment that it deserves. Max made some of the hottest anal scenes ever filmed with the likes of Vanessa Chase, Tammi Ann, Barbie Angel, etc. and it would be wonderful to finally see these as they were meant to be seen!

I like to see the type of sex he shoots (rough), but I don't like his movies at all. He's old now and I think his stuff might do better if he directed and kept himself out of the movies. I think him not having a big dick also hurts his movies. I'd like to see him direct something where he uses other dudes to do the fucking, it would be way better than what he puts out now. But I'm sure one of the main reasons he's in this business is so that he can fuck the girls, so more power to him. He's also a trailblazer when it comes to the rough sex genre as he was doing it back when others didn't or wouldn't.
I'll miss Mike's "hatin'" to tell you the truth. Max almost always kills my wood with his schtick, though you have to credit him with pushing the boundaries. That said, I do get off on some of his scenes. And I will rent Kami's, cuz Kami's so cool.

and that's the thing I'm noticing with Planet Max 17 , all the "good" parts are cut. In a way, it's a good and bad thing to see the Euro trailers, good because you see what you'll be missing, bad because you'll see what you're missing.

Reading your reviews for Planet Max 2 and then Planet Max 17, I'd have to say that was quite the 360. But keep in mind, when I was a fan of Leanni Lei, it was your succinct and totally disgusted review of Planet Max 2 that made me want to seek out the movie even more. I guess I'm just sick that way. But it just illustrates that there's no such thing as bad publicity, regardless of how much you hated the flick at the time.
I've seen 'Euro' versions of some Max movies, and I don't think they are *that* different from the US versions. The main difference is that in Euro versions some scenes have pissing. Very occasionally there is five-finger fisting, but that's about it. Max isn't generally 'rougher' in Euro versions (slapping, hair-pulling, etc) - the US versions will have this where the girl has signed up to it. Unless you are really into pissing, you aren't missing much with the US versions. But I haven't seen everything, so if you think I'm wrong, I'd be interested in some examples.
There's more fisting in the Euro versions than you're giving credit for, I think. If you look at the Euro versions of "Planet Max #17", "Pure Max #12", "Max Faktor #7" (just to pick a couple), there are fisting sequences in every scene, in addition to the pissing, etc.
I tend to agree with BigMike and Kami that with the fisting and pissing edited out of the US versions of those titles, you're not left with a whole lot.

Yeah, that wasn't a good choice for me to buy that back then, or maybe it was, because since, I've had the chance to check out and review several titles with rougher themes. Plus Planet Max 17 , wasn't really rough at all.Which is why it's a good and bad thing to see the Euro trailer prior to (re)viewing a Max Hardcore title.

I don't mind all the pissing, fisting, puking, etc. but I really miss the good old days of Max just sodomizing cute little teenies like Leanni Lei and spraying massive loads across their faces.
It only took BigMike three years to figure it out. Some producers got it sooner, and like monkey see - monkey do, they have copied everything I created. But roughness was never really my style. Some girls like it that way and I'll take a scene where it goes.

I cannot order Max Euro versions from Jaded (only Jaded have them ? I don't want to buy the soft version ),because the shipment will get confiscated by the german custom office .I don't want ,that the custom officers watch the porn movies ,paid by me .They can buy there own porn .I am not sure if other companies will copy the Max pissing and puking style !
