Oh, I completely agree...with all of it. As I said in my earlier post, I do think there are some men working in porn who just shouldn't be working as actors (either that or they should take some effort to improve themselves, if possible). I just made my second post in order to clarify my position because I know a lot of people in the business read this forum and I didn't want to insult anyone with overly broad generalizations.
I DO have my frustrations with porn, producers, directors and actors but I also know that nobody's perfect and it has to be a hell of a lot harder than it seems to the casual fan out here who gets to sit on his couch or in his chair relaxing and beating off at his leisure. I guess what I'm saying is that I love to complain but I just want to make sure that I'm doing it gently and constructively. It's good that we do, though because in any business, without customer feedback, improvement is virtually impossible.
I wasn't arguing with your position....or at least, I wasn't trying to. Sometimes when I make a post, I get carried away and drift OT and some of the things I might say might have no bearing on what I quoted. I try not to do that and I know it's terrible form. Sometimes, I just want to make sure I make a point while I'm thinking of it.
Anyway...good thread. I've always believed the men were just as important as anyone else in the whole process (if not THE most important component, other than the women).
Good for you. That's the attitude I want from every porn male and really anybody that I interact with in any business relationship. When people in porn start talking about how really harrrd it is, I think how really harrrd a lotta jobs are for a lotta people and how easy the same jobs are for others who have the talent and are doing the job because they want to. I doubt Jenna Jameson or Paul Thomas have any complaints about their jobs. I never heard Tiger Woods complain or Bill Gates. I say nobody should complain about what they do, they should work on developing options in their life instead if they want more. well, I'm female and I watch porn not for the male actors or the females, but for the sex, the filthier and more intense the better.
Sometimes I like it when the guy is old or ugly or repulsive, it makes me think that the girl is so horny that she'll do it with anyone and it makes the scene hotter. Sometimes when the guy is hot like Rocco it can be a turn on as well! I'm not looking for the people, just for how nasty the scene is.
And I watch porn a lot, like every other day so Freedom Fighter, I think it's rather odd that you think it's weird that women watch porn. I like to watch porn because it's exciting, kind of like a hobby I guess, and because it's fantasy and nasty. I would never ever get DP'ed in real life but I enjoy watching others do it.
I think you have what is called a madonna-whore complex. You think it's ok for YOU to watch porn but whoever your significant other is has to be "pure" and "maternal". Guys that have that type of mentality tend to marry a "good girl" but cheat behind her back with hookers or what he considers "girls for fun".
You also have really preconceived notions of how women should be. I for one am not maternal at all. Plus I am also very very competitive. I think a lot of women have sex drives that are just as high as men, it's just that they were told since they were young to control it since it's not considered acceptable.
Also there are many women involved in sex crimes (not that that's a good thing, which it isn't) but just to refute your statement, haven't you heard of all those women teachers getting with their students lately? There's been quite a few of them.
I find it strange that a lot of men think that it's weird for women to watch porn and think that most women think porn is repulsive. All my friends watch porn, even the shy religious ones that are bitchy to guys, they just lie about it. For example, one of my friends always denied watching porn until she stayed at my house and watched a bunch of my tapes, and later admitted it. You would be surprised to know how many women watch porn.
Hi, I'm new to the boards, but an old-time porn viewer....the first one being around 1981 and on to the present. I have quite a few things to say about the state of porn now as oppose to how it used to be. But I don't want to bore anyone.
I think many of the male "old timers" in porn belittle the little blue pill (Viagra) out of fear and doubt a little. For one, they were in a unique position for a long time as being the only guys around that could get it up and stay hard for a scene, which is why we saw so many male performers recycled over the years, and many STILL in movies. They worked hard to make a name for themselves, they proved they were professionals that could get it up and cum when they needed to. And some weren't half bad actors either.
Now, the little blue pill comes along and behold, ANYONE practically can keep an erection during a scene. That would certainly make me worry about my job security if I hadn't made a good name for myself or burned bridges in the past. Or maybe even not job security, but just that you worked hard to get where you were and so many guys are just bypassing that and going into the major leagues without paying their dues.
