All it takes to make a readable story is one person with a pen, paper, and time. Even low-budget independent filmmaking requires the collective efforts of many people and quite a bit of money. One other thing has created confusion about what it takes to make good movies, and especially what it take to create good porn: While it may be much easier to write good porn, or make good porn photograhs, it's much more expensive to produce books or magazines than it is to produce DVDs. 1000 DVDs, with amaray cases and four-color printed inserts costs about $1500. Never in a million years could your produce 1000 copies of a 100 page, four color magazine for such a low price. Traditionally film/video has been more expensive than books or magazines. That's just not the case anymore. Between cheap consumer cameras, desktop editing, and $1500 DVD runs, video/DVD is the medium of choice for the no talent, no budget pornographer. -T.C.
