It is amazing how much people disliked naming an award after Linda Lovelace, so...
I give in and bow to the masses: NAME CHANGE: We will simply call it The Deep Throat Award instead of The Lovelace Award!

Note: This is a special award for the 25th anniversary of the XRCO and wlil be presented at the next XRCO Awards show. It is totally separate from Best Oralist - and yes, you can be nominated in both categories. So any suggestions are appreciated for performers active in 2008...

Probably a good thing because whomever won might not have accepted it or it would have been really awkward for them to with everyone looking on and from what's been said here wouldn't have been a popular category. I'm all for special awards for this next years show and just curious why just this one, I know BJ's are real important in a scene involving b/g but isn't vag or anal equally important in some eyes. I know we dont' want a hundred categories but this one time special event I think it would be cool to have some extra awards for various categories we can come up with, Best Movie of the past 25 years could be one-- Film or Video might have to do two there but you see where I'm going, something to think about maybe. Best Porstarlet, Best Stud it could be interesting, not sure we could get all the winners to show but who knows. Ok I'm done, time to go to the dentist, I was just trying to avoid going by typing here, lol!! If there are other special awards and I just don't know or forgot I apologize.

Bono-One has some good ideas of best movie, best starlet in the past 25 years, etc.

Why now? Why Deep Throat? You mean, aside from it being the XRCO's 25th anniversary and aside from Deep Throat being without question the biggest, most well-known title in the biz?

I've got no problem with the Deepthroat Award, think it's fine for the 25th Annv. I was just curious if there might not be other categories we could have them in such as Best Movie, Best Starlet, etc. Nothing against the award at all, I know it was an important movie.

The only problem with doing such a broad range of "Best From the Last 25 Years" is that not enough people have SEEN enough going back THAT far to do it justice. Hell, a LOT of reviewers aren't OLD enough to have seen the "Oldies" in order to compare. Plus, going back 25 years isn't far enough - ex: Deep Throat was over 35 years ago. Remember, we all aren't as (ahem!) "elderly" as Margold (sorry Bill - couldn't resist it - heh heh)...
