I've had good experiences the last time I ordered through Jaded and DVDEmpire, but I still do most of my purchasing through XRentDVD.com, and they remain the best company overall IMHO.
Even as they have all in-stock items at 15% off, and occasional studio sales beyond this, they manage to keep almost all of their inventory IN-STOCK! And when the run out of something, it is often back in-stock in 24-48 hours. This is all reflected in the real time availability (I snatched up one of the last copies of LWCBBMD14 yesterday, it was out of stock, but will likely be available again soon). This is outstanding, and the best I have yet encountered online.
Besides this, they continue to ship same day, send e-mails when an order is placed, and again when it ships, and offer good customer service when there is a problem. Happily, I haven't hada problem yet in 2002, and the worst that happened when I had a problem in 2001 was that, on a rent to own purchase, they forgot to send me the DVD cases. I then requested the cases, and they were accidentally sent twice, but only charged once.
If they would only SELL (not rent) to Europe, you non-Mer'cans reading this could take advantage of their service (maybe if they get enough requests, they would add international sales). If you are in the US, and you don't like the service of some other company, give XRent a try. Of course, you'll be disappointed if you are searching for cheapo comps or free shipping, but I'm happy to pay a small shipping fee when I know my order is shipped same day, and I receive e-mail confirmation of this.
