I like XrentDVD as a company and I think Saddam desperately needs to get strung up in a public square a la Mussolini, but this crosses the line. Last night I got mail from Xrent promoting, and I'm not making this up, a "War Kick-Off Special". Say goodbye to my business Xrent, that's just sick. What's next, a "Killer Flu" Buy 1 Get 1 Free blow out?

I don't know if it's "sick", but it's not in very good taste. I see they have the "War Kickoff" thing on their homepage...like it's a football game or something.

I'm fairly disappointed in their judgement on this, as well. Up 'til now, they've seemed like a very classy outfit. But this indiscretion is a real doozy!

I don't know if this will affect my future purchases (or lack thereof) with XRent or not. I do believe they should kill this campaign pronto, and maybe even publish an apology.

It looks like they have changed it already.

It now reads March Madness Special.

See this is what they should have done: Used the phrase "March Madness" and then put up a picture of Sadamm...now THAT would be funny!

I got the email too & deleted it right away. I like Xrent but this was a real bonehead thing to do.
Question, is the March Madness they're referring to the NCAA tourney, the war, or both? Actually this is a basketball & war news junkie's dream. You can switch back & forth & get all you want of either.

(For those in Europe & elsewhere outside the US who may not know-"March Madness" is the term we use for the annual college basketball tournament in the US)

Well, I think they prolly wanted a sale this week and just figured it would be easy to name it after that. Anyways, I can't see not shopping at a porn store because of "poor taste" haha.

Along the same lines... I never really cared for Five Star's Osama themed banner about terrorism.

In general, I think porn and porn retailers should stay out of politics, unless it relates to free speech or something else connected to the industry.
