I'm mainly citing this as an example of conservatism continually creeping into porn. I know there's less money in porn because of tube, custom, and cam sites now being more prevalent, but it can't be that much more expensive to shoot in a shower. I think it's more to do with insurance than production cost. Someone has to be liable and I suspect that falls on producers. I imagine injuries resulting in lawsuits would be devastating, especially with performers having more agency and representation and production companies having less money. Plus directors are probably afraid of getting expensive equipment damaged from water. I'm not isolating anyone or anything for the blame on this, I'm just saying I miss the variety of window dressing, so to speak. [Link]
