I know there was a thread about Jules JOrdan a while back which caught my attention. Seeing I'd like to also see thoughts on Silvera as they are my two favourite directors.
I think his movies are great. My favourite line is Service Animals. It seems he's knows how to bring out the wild and crazy side in the girls/performances. His scenes seem to have a lot of heat and spontaneity in them and he's really creative with themes in his series (female domination, candy etc),His locations are great as well.
he has two big things going for him that all to often get overlooked. His best scenes have lots of tease , dressing , undressing or just simply walking around before getting to the sex , remember the sexiest a woman can be is half undressed . He is also good a putting a more realistic personality on the screen , listing to the stars talk , laugh and have a good time makes for much more interesting action. Stagliano and Leslie are also champs at their best , lets not forget how buttman changed porn with these two aspects.
Joey is sick. I love his Rouge Adventure Movies and that he is really into it. And i think for me hes the most attractive man in Porn in America. Joey Silvera is among my favorite directors. I never miss a new volume of Service Animals and Hellcats. I think he's great at everything he directs: some say he has the best she-male flicks (I don't know since I am not too much into this stuff), he also delivers really fine oral movies (Facefucking Inc. was awesome). I agree with Jakejd4949: A big part of what makes him brilliant is the tease aspect before the scene. Joey has a way with the camera that very much reminds me of John Staggliano, and I guess it should since Joey did a lot of work with him. John knew how to worship a girl's ass with the camera. Joey seems to worship face and ass.
The closeup camera work he did with Kara Bare in her scene were breathtaking. Amazingly sexy and a great showcase for her face and eyes. He seems to do this with other stars too; the scene in SA23 with Jenna Presley features some great face and eye shots of both girls before the scene.
I also LOVE when Joey participates in the scenes, because I *always* have the feeling that he is just dying to get his hands on the girls he shoots. So when he jumps into a scene (like he did with the "no name" girl in Let's Get Fucked Please in Brazil #2) it's great. Ditto on his participation with Kara both before *and* after her scene. It was shot mostly POV and was one of the hottest things I've seen in a while.
On the other hand, Joey is kinda weird in some aspects for me. I'm not into she-males at all, and he's done some really kooky (and often funny) things in his films. Back when he had the All Blew Shirts label there were blowup dolls coming out of dumpsters and all kinds of whacky "where the fuck did that come from?" moments.
Joey Silvera is my favorite director hands down. I have watched all his movies going back to the: Kink, Fashion Sluts, Butt Row and Please days. I love the way he throws something very kinky and odd into a scene for shock value. I remember watching Please # 3 when Eric Everhard licked up his own Cum off Bunny Luv's tits when she asked him to do so.
For a little while,after taking a trip down memory lane and seeing some of Joey's late, great movies, comparing these to his later ones, I wondered if the man had lost some of his mojo/touch and become a gonzo copycat. However, after viewing "Service Animals 20" I must say I am ashamed of myself for even doubting Joey! Joey still has his own unique style, and watching this movie, made me a Joey-worshipper again....

The thing I like most about Joey's work is that there's always room for spontaneity. His scenes may start out with a pattern in mind, but the performers seem to take it to other places, with Joey's reaction being "Good stuff!" He has a great feel for his work and the heart of a true pervert.
I like some of Joey's scenes, and then I see some scenes that make me think, what the fuck?
For example Tory Lane giving head while smoking a cigarette. Trading off between the cigarette and the cock. Some things seem to me to be done just to be different. Even if they don't have an erotic value to them. I heard from alot of girls who say they like to work with Joey. I'm thinking because they get to do different things like dominate a man , smear cake and whipped cream in the guys face etc.
Then again one persons kink is another person fast forwarding through a scene.

Joey is a true perverted genius. Shoots anything/everything he loves with interest. He doesn't just shoot porn. While I haven't seen anything new from him in over 2 years, I can safely bet all my money that his new stuff is just as good, if not better than before.
Of all the DVDs I own, Joey's takes the most room. His Rogue Adventures line in one binder, along with the Runaway Butts series, Service Animals, Please, Butt Row, and She-male Road Trips, but sadly my collections are not complete.
I forget the exact count, but as of 2 years ago, I owned all but 4 or 5. Yeah, I like Joey's quirky style.

I don't think of him much - I guess I should for all the high praise here!
I've seen a few of the Service Animals series over the years - kind of hit or miss for me as I remember but it's been awhile. My general impression that the overall video quality (lighting, color, sharpness) will be average but his participants generate a lot of heat and/or chemistry in their scenes.
I do have Face Fucking Inc and Hellcats 12 on my "to be rented" list. I've gotta say though, you're losing me with those cluttered covers. But I hate to think that I am missing some good porn so I'm going to check out these and maybe another new Service Animals.
I'm more in HeyNow's camp - Joey's been a solid director, but his camera techniques usually drive me up a wall! Just when you want him to get closer to some hot thing in frame, he pulls back, moves away or focuses on something else, making me curse at my TV screen. Solid production values, though. He has some of the best-lit, perfectly color-balanced, and clearest images of any director out there, including Jules Jordan.
I have definitely enjoyed scenes from many of his lines, but I only own a single title.
Now, having said all that, "Face Fucking, Inc." (his newest throatfucking release) is BRILLIANT stuff. It's like the man finally got a clue about sustained eye-contact-with-camera, focusing, and even zooming in on hot sequences, etc. I will beat down doors to see any future releases of this series.

All of Joey's stuff that I have seen has been top notch. At the end of Buttman's Anal Divas is a scene with Joey that I think is great, especially the car ride.

He's cool. In every sense. As a performer I don't know, but as a director he's cool, he doesn't interfer with the performers so me as a fan of BTS finds his stuff very entertaining. But he's irratic at the same time, no formula, which makes me sort of confused.
I figured there had to be a Joey thread that needed to be revived. What happened to the "Hellcats" series? I've been waiting for a new one for a while now. Joey doesn't really have any straight gonzo series aside from "The Teacher's Pet" anymore. Hellcats and Service Animals are classic that I really miss these days.

WOW! Joey's been in the biz since the late '70s! I remember him as a performer in so many movies. He actually can act, too.
