I've just found out that I've got Zango Adware. I've tried Spybot but it always comes back with this message:
"Some problems couldn't be fixed; the reason could be that the associated files are still in use (in memory)."
I've had a go with Adaware and it fixed some of it but I still have some of the Zango files on my system. As a result I've looked on the Web. Every place I've checked says I simply have to go to Start, Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, and then uninstall Zango off the program files. Trouble is there's absolutely no sign of the Zango program anywhere!
I saved the result of my last Spybot scan:
Zango: [SBI $9DB49993] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{30B15818-E110-4527-9C05-46ACE5A3460D}
Zango: [SBI $689E03A0] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{618AAD04-921F-44C2-BE38-C0818AF69861}
Zango: [SBI $411F0828] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{B5D2ED96-62F9-4C2C-956D-E425B1F67337}
Zango: [SBI $9432A0E4] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{D3A412E8-1E4B-47D2-9B12-F88291F5AFBB}
Any idea how I can get rid of the bloody things manually?

Download the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and run it.
It is superb in every way!
Since the free version does not scan actively in the background (it only scans when you run it), it is a superb extra tool to use in addition to whatever active anti-virus/anti-malware utility you run.
Also, Sunbelt offers a free version of their Vipre utility, that is also compatible with other programs, as it is also not an active scanner:

If you don't already have an active anti-virus/anti-malware utility, Sunbelt offers a 30-day free trial (full version!).

I use, and strongly recommend, Vipre Anti-Virus Premium with Firewall.

Is there an all in one tool that is -
1. Free
2. Not unbelievably bloated and constantly doing something and popping up balloons and blaring alarms and horns and red signs in your face
3. Doesn't require any kind of sign up or registration
4. Doesn't eat your RAM and CPU
5. Takes all the nasties it may have quarantined with it when/if you ever decide to uninstall
6. Doesn't take for fucking ever to do a scan
7. Doesn't do things you never asked it to do
8. Actually finds things and fixes them
Basically, I'd like some kind of passive protection but it's kind of pointless if it's always going to be poking me and telling me it needs me for something or keeps my hard drive going all the time or eats the CPU or whatever. If you have no passive protection, you're fucked but if you try it with a lot of these things that are praised as the best, they never leave you alone.

Thanks for the Malwarebytes program. It didn't get rid of Zango itself, but it proved useful in other ways. In the end I got rid of Zango by turning the computer on in Safe Mode, then running Spybot. In Safe Mode Spybot found it dead easy to wipe Zango off my computer.
