After a nice Valentine's Day evening out with my wife, we moved into the bedroom with a video neither of us had seen before: "Zazel". Absolutely stunning feature. I know some reviewers complain that there is little genuine "heat" among the actors, but frankly, that kind of stylized porn is more to our taste: beautiful women in lush settings with meticulous attention to detail; some imaginative teasing leading to hard-core but beautiful sex. The sex is tame by today's porn standards, because there's no spitting or gagging or other such stuff that's so in vogue today, but from our perspective it was as arousing as any porn we've ever watched. Typically, we chatter about all the flaws/cheesiness of feature porn when we watch it: last night we got through about half of Zazel silently watching in awe and fondling each other before we were compelled to dive for each other's private parts.

Just an open question to the members: is there anything else like "Zazel" out there? We're looking forward to watching the rest of it soon, but if there's anything comparable to be found, we'd like to stock up.

I haven't seen it yet, but I think Metro released a title called AmazoneSex , or something like it that was by the same guy.

I would suggest an Andrew Blake movie, like "Les Femmes Erotiques" or a Cameron Grant movie like "Elements of Desire".

Michael Ninn stuff's older stuff is kind of in the same vain too. For new stuff there is some stuff from Digital Playground like "The Story of J", they might be a little more intense than Zazel was but overall tame by today's standards. My suggestion is to rent a few of these titles.

Thanks to the three of you; I'm researching your suggestions . . . (I'm familiar with Ninn and Blake, and appreciate what both have to offer. Much of Blake's work is fetish-oriented, which is OK but not our thing -- or purely soft-core, and although we're not gonzo-porn types, my wife is a penetration girl, and both of us ultimately want to see some actual SEX.
As for Ninn, he's about as close to our preferred "style" as we've been able to find (aside from "Zazel"), but his features seem to be getting progressively more clinical and cold; what we liked so much about "Zazel" was the bright colors and organic feel to the movie, and of course all that luscious shaved female genitalia. . .

Thanks, Lee. The screenshots in some of those reviews look very promising indeed, in terms of our particular tastes.

I'd suggest the Marty Zion films for Nectar, like "Illumination", and "Mystified 1, 2 and 3". These films have stylised sex in exotic locations with cool music. The sex is beautifully shot and ultra hot as well.

There is a 2004 film I saw on cable TV which I think is called "Island Rain" which shows beautiful couples having sex in the rain in exotic settings - chicks will dig that film!

I also suggest Jenna Jameson's "Dreamquest" and Tera Patrick's "Forbidden Tales".

Zazel is one great movie, although while I found some scenes (esp the black & white scene) sizzling while others left me cold.

I have to agree with the person who put forward Andrew Blake's name. His stuff is arty and beautifully shot, although not always very hot. Also, as I posted in the couples recommendations, Angel X is incredibly well lit and shot, although some of the men are a bot on the scrungy side. Oh well, you can't have everything.

We haven't seen it yet but the reviews of Mirage (Original Sin) make it sound like you might enjoy it (it just came out I think so there aren't a whole lot of reviews out there). While we were at the AEE we talked to Nic Andrews for a few minutes & he signed a full sized movie poster of it for us. I'm not sure just where I'm going to hang that where the kids won't be scratching their heads over it . Anyway, once we got home I did some searching on it & it looks interesting (Outdoor sex in nice locations).

When you said Mirage it reminded me to remind Pirate about Wicked's "Mirage" from '00 with Alexa Rae romping through exotic locations and picturesque visuals. Not as special-effecty as Zazel, but there is a camel, for example, and a bed-on-a-beach.

Zazel was worth seeing at the time. I remember it now only for the black and white scene. Gina LaMarca. Way hotter for me than the average choke-and-spit today. Oh yeah, the lesbians-in-the-lake were hot too.

Philip Mond = Christophe Mourthé? I don't think so. I believe Philip Mond is Dutch, Mourthé is French.

Unless you are talking about another AmazoneSex .

Mourthe's stuff might be a good match nonetheless. He has done other videos as well. If you ask me his video work is grossly overrated. It is way too obvious that it is the work of a still photographer who has little to no clue about shooting moving pictures.
