Yes I'm here to rail against the studios and their comps.
I like ZT but they are annoying the shit out of me when it comes to their comps.
The latest is Tori Black vs. Sasha Grey.
I'm a big believer in star based comps, but once you put more than one girl in there it becomes pointless. I guess the studio is thinking they are expanding their chances of sales...in my view it's the opposite.
I was ready to fork my money over for a Tori Black comp but was dismayed to see that they split a two disc set between Tori and Sasha Grey. Nothing against Sasha, but I won't shell out money for her scenes when all I want is Tori, hence no purchase for me.
I dig Eva Angelina big time. ZT puts out a comp Eva vs Teagan. Again, nothing against Teagan Presley, but I'm not going to shell out cash for her scenes when all I want is Eva. Again, no purchase for me.
Instead I picked up comps of Eva from New Sensations/Digital Sin and the recent Tori comp that Red Light put out.
ZT has enough scenes from these girls to give them their own discs, so why do they ram another girl down our throats?
Can someone explain to me why they do this? There also isn't even one scene in the flick where Tori and Sasha are together, which you would think they would do with a title like Tori vs Sasha. It kind of implies that they'll at least be in a scene together.
Am I wrong in thinking this way?
To make a long story short, Red Light and NS/Digital Sin got my money...ZT didn't.

Comps would be a viable format to people who fast forward through most of every scene to watch only the facials. People who rent can rent just one disc, depending on their suppliers. However, I think comps should be labeled as comps.

Our comps are labeled as comps and we have never attempted to pass one off as a new release. No, the business isn't hitting us any harder than anyone else; every company releases comps, the thinking was that two big named girls has more appeal than one. Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's and If the movies weren't selling, we'd revisit that marketing strategy. For now, most people seem to like the format.
