Greg Alves took a lot of heat in the "Who's Your Daddy" thread, but it turns out, he listens too.

This may be premature, but Mike Quasar tells me that they have decided not to feature asphyxiation in future releases (there's a statement I never imagined making).

Anyway, I think they deserve a lot of credit, and wanted to give
it where it's due.
We love and support fan-responsive companies like this.

Thank you Mike, Greg Alves and Zero Tolerance!

No more choking of the sluts? Oh well, we still have: verbal abuse, spitting, slapping, bukkakeing, gag factoring, gaping, a2m, etc. so all is not lost.

I'm glad you were able to see the glass as half full, not half empty, ATM. That's a good positive attitude.

No disrespect intended, but would you still say this if they responded to fans like, say, Druber?

Walter, dude, don't you let anything slide?
Okay, I suppose Druber "Outlaw Cunt-Fucking / Just Gimme An Endless Supply of Fresh Meat" and his ilk are 'fans' just as anyone else. Perhaps more so, if you choose to apply the unabbreviated 'fanatic' term, ie: extreme, maniacal, rabid, etc.. However, I don't think even Druber was into THIS shit, and the only two who had anything positive to say about it in that thread are both employed by the porn industry, Davis's PR person and the owner of the company, so their actual 'fan' status is technically questionable.

Former porn fans are being lost everyday because this clearly crosses a line, and they don't want any part of supporting it, which leaves a more hardcore contingent. When you couple that with the competitive nature of the business, and factor in the tendancy of those who work in porn to get numb to it all, I think they just lose their perspective sometimes. That's why it's often up to us to tell them, and I'm glad to see that they responded in such a positive way. I can think of other companies who would have just ignored any criticism.

I'd also like to say that I believe Mike Quasar was instrumental in this policy change, though certainly Greg Alves had the final say, and they are both to be commended. I'm as cynical as you can get, but I know that Mike truly believed this to be harmless, because he is a good guy and a moral person who would never be involved otherwise.

Did that answer your question?

No. Expect a three page answer in a couple days.

btw, I believe Druber's new passion is "fake" rape scenes. That scares the hell out of me.

I don't know. Maybe Michael Hutchence has the answer. But he ain't saying!

OK. Bad joke. That's auto-erotic asphyxiaton. Different, yes?

You know, I'd still like to see the topic discussed without everything turning into a flame-fest. The thing that puzzles me is that there appear to be plenty of porn performers who enjoy it, or at least pretend really convincingly. So, if it is consensual, and people aren't being choked to the point where they have to go to ER, why is it bad? Or why is it any worse than any number of other sexual behaviors in porn films that seem risky or outrageous? Anal cream pies? That seems insanely risky even with HIV testing, etc., especially given first-hand accounts of anal rupturing (not "blissful") from the likes of Amee Donavan.

Or should we start drawing a line, and encourage the industry to back of of gladitorial porn across the boards?

There are many threads related to this topic, so I don't necessarily want to blow this wide open again. But I wouldn't mind some concise reiteration (without bringing the viability of a certain male star back into the volley).

Or maybe everyone's done with this one?

Skronker,
The most knowledgable person on this issue is Jay Wiseman, who's article I linked in that other thread. He himself is a member of the S & M community, but is also a medical professional.

I have bitten my tongue on this subject,as I am no fan of ANY degrading act, but to ask what is wrong with asphyxiation... are you joking? There are plenty of reason why, but most of all is the possible damage and DEATH that can occur when your brain ceases to function properly by shutting down your major organs.
I want to believe that Quaze had no idea how dangerous this could be, and am plenty glad that those involved having taken a different perspective on this issue.
I am not hear to incite a "flame war" with anyone, but atleast be logical.. what if in your place of work, you just happen to "choke" a co-worker and the outcome was more serious than what you ever expected. Are you to be blamed or arrested for your actions?

Have any porn stars died or been hospitalized because of choking or "breath play" (breath play? ... I love lingo)?

I've never heard of any. Though talk of stitched-up rectums run rampant.

Yes, the term 'breath play' is putting a spin on this that could bounce it off the moon and back, but I was also struck almost speechless by the question "what's wrong with asphyxiation?"
and at first I thought he had to be joking. Have Future and Skronker bothered to read the article I linked? I wonder...

I for one did read the article, thank you for posting it. It was very interesting to hear someone speak on the subject, who seems to know something about it. Plus, there were some other people in the biz that spoke of their dislike/discontent to this form of "play". I think the voice of reason spoke and was heard for once . Too bad that once those who cross that fine line seem to lose all sight of reality.
