You guys are putting out INCREDIBLE stuff but your website ain't very good, IMHO. No back covers, no cast lists and your current release section is still listing movies from January. I know you have a scrolling box on the left side that shows upcoming releases but again, only front covers and NO cast list. How 'bout a little preview gents?? We're in the process of making it a membership site with a substantial amout of free content but for now, it blows. I'll start checking those sites you mentioned. While I'm a customer of AdultDVDEmpire, in the past they have been a little slow with posting new release box covers and cast lists (as opposed to Jaded or Gamelink, for example.) This may not be the case anymore. BTW, I'm all for you developing a membership sight, but all I really want is to know who's in your upcoming releases and a few pics so I can pre-order. [Link]

I think they do a fabulous job of combining a membership site with vast amounts of free content (including front and back box covers, cast lists, trailers, profiles on the girls, etc.). Also, Quaze, I am extremely pleased with every ZT movie that I have purchased so far. Ass Cleavage #2 (April's First Ever Anal Scene), School of Cock, Black in the Saddle, and Grand Theft Anal #3 are all gems. And I am sooooo looking forward to Internal Cumbustion #4 with Teagan. It's best , IMO , to have a single sized image come up . The system they use at the moment doesn't work well with my browser ( IE with Avant over it ) , the larger image only shows the top portion without any option to scroll down . It forces me to save an image if I want to see it in it's entirety , which ends up being too much effort . If you're looking for examples of great websites I'd recommend DVSX , Evil Angel , and Evolution Erotica . The option at the last two sites to check out a few pics from each release , and trailers , is a definite plus . [Link]

Click to expand seriously, if you want to view websites the way the developer wants you to, use the browser that has become the standard, IE without Avant over it, whatever that is. It's impossible to develop so called 'cutting edge' websites that are perfectly cross-browser compatible. The Redlight District guys did a great job on their website. Think they used some of my ideas on it. I haven't checked out Zero Tolerance's. Anybody got an email address for the top guy at ZT? [Link]

Until recently I hadn't even heard of them, but I read a review of Double Parked 7 or 8, and followed the links to their website to see what I could see for myself. Now, because I can go there, see the boxcovers of a title and also see a LOT of stills from any given DVD title I'm interested in (they have around 5 per scene for 25+ for each dvd) it really give me info as to what I'll like or not like because I can see a lot for myself. Proper stills show a lot mroe than the usual back-of-boxcover shot. This includes "bad things" like seeing when the gorgeous chick on the boxcover looks.. far less appealing in the vid itself, which means I'm not unpleasantly surprised and hence pissed off when I see it. Don't worry about giving content away "for free" - There's tons of free hardcore pics on the net anyway - what we see on DVSX's site is all good because warts'n'alll, the pornsumer see what they're getting. Because of DVSX's website, I've bought about 7 of their DVDs recently, with about 10 more on my to-get list. If you feel you can proudly stand behind you product (and I know you feel this way) then this format of website holds up. And I'd love to see the rants come back in the free content. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "is this even ready". Other scenes for this movie will be shot in Brazil at the beginning of April and until I get there and cast it I have no idea if they'll all be one on one although I prefer one on one scenes. As for the website, I agree that DVSX has far and away the best site out there but in terms of setting up our own, we're sorting out how to best protect ourselves from some future internet crackdown where smut peddlers are hauled into court because they didn't do enough to prevent unauthorized access to minors and yet still have a large section of free content and fan-friendly stuff. We won't be re-inventing the wheel of course but I'm optimistic that everyone will enjoy the site when it launches. and yes, the ranting section will certainly be free. Quaze Click to expand Again let me say thanks to you and Travis for your interest in fan feedback. As discussed, there are a few different ways to approach re-vamping your site. Definitely having a premium sight for your fans who want exclusive ZT material is great. I would agree with Pontus and Scipio that RLD and DVSX have model websites with their free previews and premium material mixed in. Like Scipio also said if you let me see back covers and cast lists as soon as possible I can plan on pre-ordering more ZT product. If I have to wait to rent it I may then not buy it. I also see that DVSX, but mostly Sineplex, will sometimes post a box cover picture even before the cast list text is added. I could also suggest that you or Travis could post up-coming releases with cast lists on ADT. I think you already do this but I'm not sure. PS, I just checked the Porn News section and found posts regarding ZT releases by Aybesea. A monthly post from you or Travis regarding upcoming casts would be great! I don't need to see the exact point of contact between two (or three, or whatever) sets of genitalia to see if a_porn_chick_01 looks good in the scene. If after the election, Mr.Ashcroft goes on holiday you can always change to fully explicit if you and other users really want to. and yes, the ranting section will certainly be free. I use Avant because it blocks pop-ups and any other useless shit I want it to (unlike standard IE), and I like using the functionality of a tabbed browser. I prefer the method that so many of the retailers on ADT use - Small Front/Small Back/Large Front/Large Back, all openable in their own seperate windows. cheers, scipio [Link]

I went out and visited all of the sites that were mentioned in the thread up until this point. While a lot of people are posting about this or that favorite site, I'd like to hazard a guess as to some common threads that I've found in the good and the bad sites that have been mentioned thus far: 1) There's no substitute for good content in the DVDs (or videos) that are being sold. Good web design only gets you so far without great content in the product. Jumping back to the topic of the thread, I don't think anyone that's watched a fair number of ZTs titles can argue that they don't have good content, that is, hot talent, good direction, and good production. The website, however (as mentioned earlier in the thread by several posters), could use a little help. 2) Some of the sites that are geting panned in this thread as well as some of the other "big name" porn production companies suffer (IMHO) from having to promote inferior products, but those that have good products to sell often fall victim to the tendency to make things too "cute" on their websites. You don't need tons of animation or scrolling windows within scrolling windows to have a great website. Keep it clean (that's clean looking, not clean content ) and provide plenty of content. I mean look at DVSX's site that everyone rightly praises for being a great site. There's nothing fancy in that site except for a small Flash animation on the front page and some animated .gif files in the main pages of the site. It's easy to find what you want when you want it and once you find what you're looking for there's plenty of high quality content to satisfy your curiosity. That's the name of the game . . . satisfying the consumer's curiosity. There's a certain amount of people out there that aren't going to buy anything from anyone and then there are a few that have already made up their mind about what they are going to buy and there's nothing you can do as a production company to influence that. But for the rest of us out here who are just looking for some good content and aren't averse to spending a little time rooting around on the Internet in order to make some good decisions, a simple, well-planned, easy to use website with a lot of good content goes a long way toward deciding where our porn dollars are going.
