Check what, how and where? What rules? I don't know what a 'tube site' is. I know the site I linked to has a large proportion of their content provided by paid advertisers who own the material posted, and some further proportion is uploaded by amateurs who own the copyright and want the clip seen. Is it inappropriate to post any link to that site, even though the copyright owner has specifically placed a clip there to be seen? I know people commonly post links here to still images they've put on imageshack and similar which they certainly don't own. Why is still copyright okay to steal, but not moving image? Is there a post which actually covers all these issues and sets out rules which are consistent and universally applied? If so, please direct me to it - I haven't been able to find it. TIA.
The post I linked to explains it, but there is no linking for tube sites. A minority of them do have permission for the content, but most do not and moderators aren't going to sift through the tube sites to determine who legally has it or not. The best way to go about it is to link to the material at the official studio site.
