For any future Pornstar ID questions use proper means- such as linking to an actual website say Evil Angels, Jules Jordan, Elegant Angel, etc. Those are completely fine and you shouldn't find a shortage of people who will help or at least offer a suggestion as to who it might be. Tube sites aren't the way to go and any post will be edited and locked without explanation. Newbies might make the mistake and that's fine, hopefully they'll learn and ask in the proper fashion but those who've been here awhile should know by now we don't support those sites in any way shape or form. Yes. Post a screencap(s) here, that complies with the ADT Image Policy This way we can see what you're asking about, and you don't have to post links to pirate sites, tubesites, etc. Don't waste your time loading xxx pictures to most of the free image hosting sites, as they are usually taken down by the time many of us go to look at them. Question for the mods: I know the dislike of Tube sites is because they are stealing from American porn firms. But as I always talk JAV and people ask me about clips every now and then, would a link to a JAV on a Tube also be verboten? A long shot but I figure it's better to ask than assume anything.
I fail to see the difference between stealing from an American company or a Japanese company or any other foreign company for that matter. Does stealing material from a Japanese company somehow make it less stolen?
I have noticed many people from industry (ex: Jules Jordan,Vince Voyeur,Jenna Haze to name a few) posting to their Twitter followers about their distain for tube sites that are stealing from them...just to play devils advocate for a second, I feel their pain and I'd be pissed too if someone was stealing content from me,but, with economy what is why would anyone pay for something you can get for free...on a personel level, I never heard of tube sites until about a year ago a porn star posted a link on Twitter that led me straight to a tube site and since then many porn stars are posting links to these sites...
can anyone post an industry figure for DVD sales for this year compared to say a year ago to see how bad it is???
if it wasn't for tube sites, i wouldn't know about so many of my favorite stars, and find new ones all the time. I like not having to deal with dvds anymore, hiding them, skipping scenes, etc. I have a few good ones i keep on dvd, but I don't have the money to throw away on them, plus it's a recession! That being said, after finding out about new stars for free, i'd be more inclined to check out what they do have for sale or go pay to see them appearing somewhere.
In the old days when the mob was involved in porn (pre-1985 or so), they would have got a lot more than a punch in the mouth. I sort of like their way of dealing with people that steal -- just kill them or maybe break their kneecaps and arms for a first offense! A porn tube site is a site where members post whole movies so anyone can see them without paying using a cable or high-speed DSL connection. This practice has cost the industry millions of customers over the last five years. Porn tube sites are also prone to people posting viruses along with movies.
Thank you for the explanation. In some threads there have been links posted to sample clips (these are usually hosted by pay sites or the like), I'm guessing those aren't tube sites as the entire movie isn't posted. Anyway, hopefully I never post one of these links by mistakes. I'm not into downloading movies in any case as Internet service is expensive and this type of download racks up the GB quickly.
^ Since you didn't know what a tube site was, I doubt you have ever been on one. The companies do post promos for their movies, likely that is what you saw linked on here. As long as you aren't purposely looking for tube sites and stealing the movies off of one, I think you will be OK. It just takes some common sense -- if the whole movie or whole scenes from one are there, you are probably on a site that is breaking the law. If there are two or three minutes teaser clips on the site, you are probably not on one of the offending sites.

I don't think the moderators and owners should rethink the policy against tube sites because it's hard to figure out what is legitimate and what is not. Hopefully, this will actually be the test for the tube sites in the future. Not entirely sure why you'd list an actual Tube Site address in your post, please refrain from doing so in the future. It's a well-known site that is mostly legitimate, owned by Brazzers/Manwin, and that is the problem. In order to amplify that problem I thought actually posting a familiar name would help. Hmm, wasn't there more to that post? I also intended to clarify exactly who was being ripped off, exactly what I had found on what is and will be called a legitimate tube site.

If you don't steal porn by supporting tube site & using them then why would you be on their "finding" girls to begin with? I agree that tube sites shouldn't exist, unless the clips are fairly short, but I did occasionally visit for while. I just hate when people talk as if the word "tube" isn't embedded in our minds for the rest of our live's because of youtube. The first time I saw the word "tube" associated with a porn search on google, I had to click it. I never even purchased porn (DVD or VOD) until I visited a tube site. Hardcore porn is way different than the shit you can order through cable or satelite service. I don't go to those sites anymore, because I hate to see gay or tranny stuff on the front page. Of course some people only watch porn on tube sites, and while a lot of people would call that person a thief, you could also say they're smart or at least frugal. I just personally think the industry needs to evolve. More bluray would help to make up some of that lost profit, especially since tube site vids look like shit. People started stealing and uploading films, so the film industry brought us Netflix, Bluray, and 3D etc. I view them all because they are all different, and each format serves a purpose. The adult film industry gave us pay per minute, and VOD and DVD's at $30+ a pop. Um...yeah, not the same thing. I also wish more adult stars would recognize they have a huge fan following. Why not have an actual official website? Get that extra money. Why the fuck not?! Other adult stars, and a lot of stars in other industries do it, so there's really no excuse.
I'll look through tube sites and when i find something amazing, i'll dig and research it and buy the actual dvd to have it in way better resolution. A LOT of the stuff on tube sites is amateur stuff anyways that I can't find anywhere, at least in the genres I look for. In addition to that, the stuff I like and that is available is mostly older stuff that you get on AdultDVDMarketplace for >$5 per dvd. Most new American stuff is just very uninteresting to me. The only exception to that is Evil Angel stuff and I'll buy some of their newer releases, but they've gotta be something that REALLY catches my eye since I can't afford to buy 5 of their new dvds at $25 a pop. I'll just stick to my older stuff from the early 2000's that's anal and mostly Euro and pick up what I like on dvd when i find out what it is, which i've done many times before. New porn is pretty tame and boring to me, so tube sites let me browse before I buy, which is true even if people like Kelly Divine say people just use that as an excuse. When the porn industry starts putting out stuff that piques my interests again, I'll buy the new stuff but until then, I'm all about the way back machine and finding gems from yesteryear that I can pick up cheap on AdultDVDMarket place. I'll buy some more contemporary stuff regardless of whether I've seen a preview or not, ie - Harmony stuff, just because their shit is consistently good and I know I won't get fucked over when I buy that. That's my opinion on it all.
This is lame. I find out about a lot of good stuff by seeing short clips on tube sites. And I have one that I'd love to know the origin of, but I guess it's not allowed here.
+1 I think Pierre Woodman has a great situation. He puts some teasers out there on the tubes, or lets them exist, 1 min or maybe one scene or a short compilation. Then you see his stuff is smoking hot and go to his site to buy a DVD, if that is your thing, or pay a membership fee to watch it streaming at your convenience if you just (like every porn fan on earth) want selected scenes or moments within selected scenes and no plot and don't care about obsessively watching a scene 15 or 500 times or having your girlfriend/wife/mom find your huge porn stash. IMO, but I find it hard to believe I'm not in the audience majority. DVDs will be going the way of printed newspapers -- gone five years from now. Embrace the internet revenue model or die.
How you watch porn on your computer is up to you, I have no issue with that. What the issue is pure and simple is using material from those sites in order to ascertain a scene or title ID. We don't support those sites in any way shape or form so those threads get shut down and that's pretty much it.

The industry doesn't wish to evolve. It's human nature to have inertia when it comes to any sort of endeavor so they wish to keep their antiquated business model, conflate copyright infringement which is what tube sites represent with the actual theft of physical items, which it's not, and then try and convince people that they're the same thing, when anyone can recognize that they're not. You may want to pay for it but the hundreds of people who follow your link might decide that they'll just download the clip for free, thus denying the copyright owner his legal right to compensation. You can post a picture taken from the clip because the map is not the territory.
