A lot of the porn produced in the U.S was total crap this year. Plus, I no longer bother with DVD's, I only subscribe to HD sites, which eliminates a lot of the U.S. producers since Fame Dollars aka Scam Dollars has completely ruined Devils and Evil Angels sites with false HD claims. And the same laws they're trying to pass also allow ISP's to block anybody they don't like at the same time! Like porn sites! What a great idea!

I'm thinking of when the RIAA years ago paid people to attempt to "poison the well" of filesharing sites by having them post fake files and probably malicious files. The users of those sites shrugged their shoulders and found new ways to acquire the files they wanted. Routing around the attempted sabotage.About puretna, my guess is they sent a cease and desist order to them backed by threat of other tactics and the agency owners folded. I doubt the site was attacked with trojans. As for attacking sites with trojans/viruses it's not a terribly smart move considering once they turn to blatantly extra-judicial methods like sabotage they ruin whatever credibility they have left with the general public and those who frequent filesharing sites the most are more technically adept than them anyway and simply find ways around the sabotage to acquire the files they want. Why do you doubt it when I just told you I got a trojan from that site? Of course you don't need to believe me but I'm 100% sure that I got it from puretna. The site's owners even warned their users about this. And no one is losing credibility because people don't know who is behind the attacks. They will just not go back to that site ever again, so it's probably a pretty effective method against torrents.

You may have gotten a trojan from the site, but I doubt it was part of some coordinated attack against filesharers. It was likely some knucklehead who wanted to spread a trojan and hid it in their torrent file for their own purposes. As for website attacks though, it's usually pretty easy to tell who's behind them. For example when it's a specific hacker group that's behind it, they want the fame and will openly declare that they were behind it. If it's a governmental agency,in line with their m.o. now, they'll take over the domain so everone knows it's them. As for those cases when a torrent site is attacked by unknown assailants it can be deduced that it's probably a non-governmental non-hacker entity that is associated with a copyright owner. As for heading off such attacks, a site can simply go to a reputation system where only the most trusted uploaders post and that weeds out the new people who might upload trojanns/viruses. Also downloaders can simply scan the files they download. So that's not really a terribly effective way to deal with such sites. What will be done however is to continue sending out cease and desist orders to these sites, which while not terribly effective in lowering the overall filesharing rate, gives content owners the sense that they're making a difference. You don't get viruses by downloading torrents! That way it would be quite easy for the people responsible for the site to get rid of this threat. You can get them by simply visiting the site. They use a security hole in the browser, it has nothing to do with torrents or the content of a site. Theoretically you can get them everywhere on the net. You are correct though that it is probably not true that the adult industry is behind this. But it's possible.
Lots of time the culprit for the trojans/viruses on a site are the advertising companies. The ones that allow in ads are the juiciest targets for malware producers, as through them you can infect many sites by just one good attack. That way even big mainstream sites have been infected. Jacco
Brooke Lee Adams took it in the ass twice in 2010. Made it a good year as far as I was concerned. Lots of great stuff from GFF, Sweetheart, and Sweet Sinner. And, River Rock Women's Prison is one of the best porn vids I've ever seen in terms of both concept and execution. On a more serious note, I saw only one emention of USENET on this thread, and that seemed to suggest that it was passe`. While the focus has been on torrent sites, I wouldn't discount USENET as a source of illegal downloading. Multimedia downloads, especially porn, account for the vast majority of USENET traffic. And, the explosion of .nzb aggregator websites plus the developmenet of easy to use downloading software makes it an easy choice for many to just steal content. A previous poster mentioned the possibility of major downloaders facing bandwidth restrictions -- that may, ultimately, be the only solution for this problem. As it stands today, a person could easily download hundreds of gigabytes of video per week, assuming he/she had enough storage capacity and a USENET provider with an unlimited download plan.
Here's a suggestion... In the broadcasting business, radio stations pay an annual fee to the publishers/composers of the music they play based on gross profits. The fee is administered by ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC the big three of music publishing. The stations pay for music they never even use just so they can continue to have access to the music they want. Perhaps ISP's could be forced to pay a similar fee based on the fact that because broadband exists, so does piracy. As things stand now bandwidth is pretty cheap and so is storage. It takes less effort to steal a DVD or web content than it does to buy it. Unless that is reversed the whole business model for porn is in jeapardy.
