While I was on the plane to Berlin, I was reading an article in the New York Times about how the German economy was currently prospering. This situation took me by surprise since I was assuming that the economy was shitty everywhere like in America. Judging from the crowd at this year's Venus Berlin show, I'd say the pervert economy was going strong. Even though there seemed to be less booths this year, Saturday's crowd was completely crazy in that you can see they weren't letting hundreds of people in due to fire code regulations.
Even though this was my fourth Berlin show, I still can not get over some of the cultural differences between the sleazy German perverts and American perverts. Whenever I needed to pee, there were always huge lines to the bathroom and whenever I would get to the front of the line, I'd realise all the urinals were free and the toilet stalls were all taken. For the longest time, I always thought it was weird that so many people had to take a shit until Malte pointed out that the lines are for people to jerk off in the toilet stalls. Eww. There was woman who learned this the hard way when she crashed the men's room thinking it would be less busy than the woman's room.

There were more American girls this year and the top booth of the show again was Clips4Sale. Thanks again to Abe & Darius for giving us open access to the booth whenever the crowds surrounded the booth for a show. In the American conventions, they would do these clothed fetish shows with audience participation, but MVP Ashley Fires had another gear when she gets the opportunity to parade around naked for the masses. Tori Black was an active and bouncy tag team partner although she was not as exhibitionistic as Bree Olson last year. Tori tried to get me to participate in one of the shows and I was okay with being beaten, but I definitely was not okay with photographs of my being beaten plastered over the internet.

As for the social aspects of the show, I met a condom salesgirl at a welcoming reception. I introduced her to Malte and we became inseperable during the whole week except for when Malte took her home or at least the dark corner of a club. In the meantime Malte and I managed to goad her to do a show for clips4sale and were rather proud that we broke in a newbie until she started showing us her home movies from her ipod.
The Yourchoice crew was rocking as usual, and I somehow outdrank Jacco every night although he always brought up the excuse that he had to open up his booth the next morning. Pshaa.
