i have recently started doing 3 month subscriptions where applicable and am appreciating the value and money i save. of course, with most websites if you do the yearly you save even more but i am afraid i will get burnt and the updates will stop or slow5 or 6 months into paying 100 \200 dollar lump sum. has anyone ever been burnt doing the yearly subscription only for the website to stop making content halfway in? i feel the risk \reward of a 3 month subscription is just right as the odds are very slim of a site going under in that time frame.

Adulttime is the only site I have an ongoing subscription for. It's really rare that I do more than a month at a time for any other site. I just cycle through them over the course of each year. The only real reason for me to keep a subscription longer than a month is if I need to for downloads and there are scenes I really want for my collection.

I see your point and agree that the three-month subscription is often the best value for money, but I generally stick with monthly subs. I have a list of sites that I cycle through and I sign up a few times per year to each and download the scenes that were uploaded since my last membership. I have signed up for a few annual memberships as well. With a compelling deal, I've had annual memberships to Evil Angel, Amateur Allure, and Hookup Hotshot. Those deals often pop up at big American holidays.

I'm back to a monthly sub to Evil Angel a few times per year mostly because a lot of their stuff is European with stars that are largely unknown to me. I collect porn by the stars and not necessarily the studio or site. With Amateur Allure, they've priced themselves out of the market for me. I will rejoin, but it will be finding a deal on a monthly sub once per year or longer. I don't know why they've priced access so high, but it must be that they are happy with fewer subscribers who each pay more rather than more subscribers who pay less. (Off topic, but that seems to be the business model that Legal Porno / Anal Vids adopted a few years ago too.)

As for HUHS, my annual sub ran out last month and I haven't signed up again yet. The site is changing from featuring young, fresh models to older and more established models. I recall Bryan saying somewhere (here at ADT probably) that he's finding it harder to recruit the same type of model that he built HUHS on. But for me, even HUHS might become a monthly sub with the right deal once or twice per year.

There are a few other personal factors at play too. First is that as I get older, my drive to collect porn has diminished. 15 years ago I could have five or more subscriptions on the go at any given time. Now, at 59, it is often only one, and I can go months with nothing. (Though I'll admit that I took advantage of July 4th deals and took out three memberships.)

The second factor is that several years ago I was offered a gig reviewing sites for a review site. Getting paid to review porn is a sweet gig but the real advantage is being given free access to sites. Of the memberships I'm given to write reviews, around 25% of those are sites that I'd have signed up for on my own dime. I download everything I can from those sites. This means that sites I like I may not need to subscribe to.

The third factor that limits my buying habits is a problem I created on my own. A couple of years ago I forgot to cancel my HUHS subscription and ended up with a large charge on my credit card from a company that I didn't recognize. The company was Epoch, but they charged through their European branch that used a different name. I thought my card had been hacked and that the charge was fraudulent so I had the bank do a chargeback and cancelled the card. It was later that I figured it out, but the damage was done. My IP address is now blacklisted at Epoch so I can no longer subscribe to any sites that use that biller unless I sign up somewhere else where I can get wifi access. Epoch and CC Bill have always been my favourite billers, but now I can't sign up to any site that uses Epoch unless I jump through hoops.

I guess this was a bit of a ramble just to say that three-month subscriptions make sense sometimes.

Years ago I would sign up for 1 month subs but get burned out trying to download everything in the narrow window available, now it's yearly subs for me, and you save the most money doing it that way, also it's much more relaxing to have all the time in the world to enjoy the site, and all the updates in real time, but I've been burned, a little while back there was a site I previously joined for a year, they weren't really updating anything that suited my interest so I cancelled rebill, about a year later I discovered a video from that site that somehow I missed, so took out a month subscription of about $30 just to get that one video, I didn't notice to uncheck the boxes for offers to other sites that start off with a couple dollars for three days and if you don't cancel you'll be charged 30 bucks for a month's subscription, and these other sites I accidentally subbed to were totally not of interest to me, didn't realize this until checking my bank statement and noticed these extra charges from unknown processors to a tune of about $60! Scared the shit out of me, thought I'd been hacked, realizing they were from the site I subbed to I managed to contact support by phone believe it or not, and I have to say their support was exceptional actually, the guy said I must've forgot to uncheck those, what do you call them pre sale boxes or something? Any way, the guy offered me one hell of a generous deal if I remained subbed to the original site but I turned it down, basically paid 90 bucks for that one video that I somehow forgot to download the first time around, be careful for those pre checked boxes when signing up, and rearadmiral, I think CC Bill is the best, I love it when signing up for a site and notice CCBill is the payment processor, never had the slightest problem with them over the years.
