I would give your I Love it Rough series a try, but the way things are going right now, I'm afraid I might have to stop using the phrase "rough sex" in association with what I like. Rough sex means a lot of things to a lot of different people, and I'm afraid Brandon's brand of it often goes too far for me. There's a lot of different kinds of emotion that can be brought out with rough sex, and much of it is not good. Unless it is handled extremely carefully it can leave impressionable viewers with the wrong idea--even when both performers are into it. This is a very slippery slope, and as the Rough Sex videos from Anabolic have proven, crossing the line from roughness into abuse is extremely easy to do. I prefer to label what I like as "dominant sex", which to me intimates more of the psychological aspect BEHIND rough sex. If both performers are into it, it allows a safer playground for acting out these kinds of scenerios, rather than going too far with forceful slapping, choking etc. This should not be degredation--this should be play acting. I really do enjoy that kind of thing (and some of the physical stuff that accompanies it), but I think that adult producers must take on a certain social responsibility when producing these scenes. Even if the performers are into very rough stuff, if not carefully handled the scene's overall impression can be harmful, and can cater to the wrong kind of audience. And finally, for God's sake, leave real choking out of it. It's dangerous. I'm afraid one day a news story will break that a mainstream porn producer shot a scene with real choking that resulted in the hospitalization and subsequent brain damage, or worse of one of the performers. The scene itself probably wouldn't make it onto the shelf, but the very idea that we are going to such rediculous extremes in order to satisfy a relative minority of people who want to see asphixiation on camera is just.... mind boggling. Mock choking can satisfy most people just as easily, just please , show some responsibility and allow them to breathe. That said, my overall point is that I think you should go for it, but be very conscientious about it, both for the performers and the viewers sake. I'll give it a try. Though a few technical quirks were a bit of distraction. I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but so far, so good. Tell Brandon that I don't hate this release so far, but in a day or two he will know the final outcome.
