If I understand the editing process well enough, I'm pretty sure that the fetish menu already does just jump to the relevant part of the scene rather than having that information on the disc twice.

The fetish menu contains compilations of e.g. the blowjobs or anal sex from the main feature. Playing Flesh Hunter the other day, I noticed that the fetish menu features seem to be independent from the main feature. That is, rather than having the DVD player automatically play certain parts from the main feature, the fetish menu features are separate titles on the disc. Thus the fetish menu footage is on the disc twice. If that's true, is it technically possible to have the fetish menu work so the DVD player plays the relevant parts from the main feature automatically? If so, doing that would save space on the disc, allowing for more extras or slightly higher picture quality (since the bit-rate could be increased a little).

The DVD authoring software required to do what Ebenezer is asking about is VERY expensive. My authorer doesn't have that software. In all other respects, I am outrageously happy with my authorer, so I am willing to let this go. The software that he does have, if we had it jump from one section to another from the actual main movie, it would create a small pause at each of those in and out points that would look similar to a layer change. Hopefully, some day in the near future, the software company will be able to add that feature into their software. We did try other companies once or twice who claimed to have the correct software, but if they did, they didn't know how to use it correctly. Rocco's Best Butt Fucks and Euro Hardball 4 were each done by 2 different companies, and they're both done wrong in the fetish menu section. Nothing horrible, just not what I asked for. [Link] |
