Ever watched the ballet two nights in a row, and had two different lead dancers the second night? Doesn't it change in subtle and splendid ways the show you thought you saw the night before?

How does this sound for something creative and different for gonzo porn in 2005? I'd like to see a challenge between two porn directors, to follow certain restrictions for their individual films, yet put their spin on things to make the film they shoot as distinctly theirs as possible. In other words, they try to shoot the same film, but with their own sensibilities at work, they'll put their subtle stamp on the films.

Maybe buddies like Steve Holmes and Manuel Ferrara, to each produce a film with six scenes, and both directors have to have the same girls in each scene. For example, if Lilian Tiger is in scene one in Manuel's film, she needs to be in scene one of Steve's film. Each scene can open with its own unique scenario, e.g. Liliane is an interior decorator inspecting the apartment of two guys who she fucks. If Manuel's movie's scene opens this way, so does Steve's, although they don't need to use the same set, nor the same male performers, but they do ned to keep the number of male performers the same.

What would be the point of this, you ask? Well, porn has never shied away from novelty, and this level of artistic novelty would present an interesting exercise. I argue that with so many girls working for just about all the companies shooting gonzo, so that you can get almost the same cast list on a Lex Drill disc as you would on an RLD one, it can feel as if you're watching the same film anyway. This way, the conceit is that two directors from two companies are shooting the same films, but in their own way.

Manuel and Steve are maybe a bad example, because they've directed together. What if Erik Everhard and Chico Wang were to go head-to-head making the same flick? David Perry taking on Mandy Bright? Lex Steele the director vs Ariana Jollee the director?

This may just be too bright to make any of these directors money of these discs, or, as an experiment, coupled with sizzling hot sex scenes, it could be very interesting indeed. After all, if they remix songs, why not a remixed porn gonzo flick?
