Last Friday night, like every Friday night, I made my weekly trip into the city to check out the latest porn titles.
This time, though, there was a massive traffic jam, and as I sat there, I thought, “there has to be a better way to get my weekly fix”.
I thought about my buying habits. Some producers, like Jules Jordan, or Eric Everhard, are an instant buy.
Certain performers get a very close look, Naomi, Kat , or Jasmine Byrne on the cover gets my attention every time.
My tastes are predictable and stable; when a company or performer gets on my list, they become a habit. I think I’m a fairly normal consumer so I’d bet that most people are like me; they have certain criteria for a DVD that makes it a no-brainer for them.
Then it dawned on me: what if I didn’t have to go get my porn? What if my porn came to me?
What if a porn company offered subscriptions? What if you could go to a web site and “sign-up” for a twice-a-month delivery?

Here’s what I think it would take.

Consistent high quality: As I said, I think pretty much anything from Jules Jordan is worth buying. Evil Angel has several directors at the top of their game. Red Light District ,Platinum Pictures and Elegant Angel also have a few candidates. But fly-by-night producers need not apply (you know who you are).
A deeply discounted price: I’d buy everything John Leslie produced for a reasonable price, say $7.00 U.S. per DVD. And before you object, consider: how much of that standard $20.00 actually goes to the producer? A subscription system eliminates the middle-man. But my price varies. For some things I’d pay more, for others less, but never more that $8.00 or $9.00.
Excellent customer service: Sign-up should be easy, canceling should be easier. (Look at how the best web-sites do it). Defective DVDs should be VERY rare, and replaced quickly and painlessly. And, perhaps most importantly, that package should be sitting at my door for me every Friday, (or every other Friday). Hit-or-miss delivery kills the whole concept.
The more I think about this, the more obvious it seems. Why hasn’t someone tried this?
