Lately I've been interested in seeing "The Fashionistas". I know that this movie has been discussed to death already, but I mention this because the more I've been reading about it, the more I want to see it. Unlike most porno films, where I'm interested in them because of the type of sex that's featured, I want to see this one despite the type of sex in the movie. I'm not into rough sex or bondage, but from what I've read it just sounds like a good movie, period. I read that the quality of production is as good as any mainstream movie. I think my main interest in the movie is curiosity more than aything. I want to see if it's worth all the hype. But the chances of me actually seeing it aren't that good. And I know that my fiancee will not like it.

Just watch it, you won't be sorry. It's the best porn I've seen in a long time.

Give it a rental, that way you won't be disappointed if you don't like it. That having been said, it's a great film, you should watch it, espeically if after reading the reviews here you are still interested in it as they paint a realistic picture of the film. It's the best film I've seen from Evil Angel.

I thought that my local video store didn't have a rental copy of "The Fashionistas". Well, I was wrong. Not only does the place have a rental copy of it, they have it in DVD. But I have yet to mention the film to my fiancee, and I won't even think about renting it until we discuss it. I know that she won't go for it. It's not her type of porno film.

Just bring it home and watch it, what's the worst that can happen? she can end up not liking it, big deal. But it can also turn out that she will like it.
This movie has a really great "look" to it, by that I mean the production values are high and it's extremely well shot.
And there is also at least some story to it.
Tell her how it's won every award there is to win (which it has).

We talked about the movie, and she said there's no way in hell she'll watch it. So much for that. Oh well. It's just a movie.

Would you be willing to share with us her reasoning behind not wanting to watch it?

You should have never even discussed it with her, you should have just brought it home.
I'm with drg01 on this. You need to take some initiative and bring that fucking movie home and watch it.
What is she so afraid of? Rocco and Manuel aren't going to jump out of the TV and throat fuck the shit out of her, although there are many girls that would love that

I'm just going to respond to everyone in a single thread, so here I go.

Mason: My fiancee hates rough sex, bondage, and fake rape in porn, and I read that "The Fashionistas" has at least two if not all of those things.

drg01: In a relationship you never bring home a movie that your significant other will find offensive. I wouldn't like it if she did the same. In one of the reviews of "The Fashionistas" that I read, it said that it's not a movie to bring home unless you and your s.o. have previously discussed it, and I agree with that.

M.B.: Again, that's not how a relationship works. She would have seen the box cover of "The Fashionistas", which shows a woman chained up and wearing a bondage mask. That alone says what kind of movie it is. Then there's the description of the film on the back cover, which says it's an S&M film. At least John Stagliano is honest about his movie. He's not out to deceive people. I should add that I brought home "Mason's Sexual Disorder" home one time, and my fiancee was pissed off after seeing it because of the content. I ended up not liking the movie myself for the same reason, but that's another story. Oh, and while I obviously know the male stars of the film won't throat fuck my fiancee or put clamps all over her body, she doesn't want to see it in a movie. That's her choice, and I shouldn't force her to watch that kind of stuff.

Slient Jay: Same as the other responses.

P.S. Before anyone thinks that I have problems in my relationship, I want to say that's not the case at all. I have a wonderful relationship with my fiancee. We're very happy with each other. I should add that there are a lot of movies that I want to see but don't get to for whatever reason. For example, I still have yet to see such films as "Thirteen" and "Swimming Pool", but that's life.

Ahhh... Your still in that "Whatever bothers her bothers me" phase of your relationship huh? Well don't worry that phase will pass and you will soon be on to the "Bitch, I'll watch whatever the fuck I want to watch!!" phase. j/k :)

Myload,
First off I just want to say I was yanking your chain a bit in my previous post, sometimes I can be that way.
However, you said yourself you want to see this movie. You've seen the pics on the box so you know it contains some similar type action as Mason's Sexual Disorder had, not exactly the same but similar.
Are you sure you didn't actually enjoy Mason's Sexual Disorder, but don't want to offend the significant other because you know she didn't like it?
If you truly disliked it, you wouldn't want to see Fashionistas, would you?
Just an observation.

Myload, don't you ever have time for yourself? Does your fiancee object to you viewing this film? This isn't worth jeapordizing a relationship over, but if you want to see it, why shouldn't you? Fashionistas is a first rate porn feature. I think you'll find it less disturbing than "Mason's Sexual Disorder".

Here's the thing: Most of the porno films I've seen (except for Andrew Blake's films) have poor production quality, so when I read that "The Fashionistas" has good production quality, that sparked my interest in it. I want to see a porno movie that's not "typical", so one that is supposedly mainstream quality would fit in that category, right? The film's content would take a backseat to the picture and sound. It sounds like "The Fashionistas" is really a mainstream movie disguised as a porno movie. Even the film's name isn't porn-sounding.

Yes, I really didn't enjoy "Mason's Sexual Disorder", and my opinion has nothing to do with my fiancee's opinion. And like I said in my original message on this thread, I want to see "The Fashionistas" despite the film's content. I think there should be more big-budget high-quality porno films made, but I realize that it's way too costly for most studios.

Believe it or not, I have very little time to myself, and I never watch porno films by myself. My fiancee and I have watched planty of porno films.
Yes, she does.
"The Fashionistas" is almost everything I would like to see in a porno movie. But like you said, it's not worth jeapordizidng my relationship over it. Nothing is.
I'm glad to hear that.

While The Fashionistas has mainstream production value, it's not "a mainstream movie disguised as a porno movie." If anything it's a porno movie that aspires to be more than just interacting body parts. But there is still a couple hours worth of very hardcore sex with BDSM elements. No one would every confuse this with, say, Caligula, which tried to fool people into thinking that it was a legitimate mainstream film.

If your watching Fashionistas by yourself would jeopardize your relationship with the person you are going to marry because she doesnt approve of it, then figuring out what porno to bring home is the least of your worries.

Good luck. I mean that sincerely. I hope you realize that the idea of ownership in relationships is so fucking 20th century.

I intend no disrespect. I've been there. Thank god for the tense of the previous sentence.

Aside: My current girl is the person that introduced me to good porn, specifically Fashionistas.

That's probably what I meant to say. And remember, it's not like I've seen the movie. I'm only going by what I've read about it. You would know better than I would.
I get the idea.

I can sympathize with Myload and his dilemma with the Fashionistas. I still haven't managed to get up the courage to watch the film, even though I know it is well done, with a decent story line, and that a lot of people have said good things about it. It's simply that I don't think I can handle 4+ hours of slapping/smothering/gagging blowjobs and huge dildos shoved up a person's ass. And it doesn't help that Rocco Siffredi gets slapped around nearly as much as the women; I don't feel good about that stuff, either.

I've watched 5 rough sex films over the past year, with a total of 19 scenes between them. I only enjoyed two out of all these scenes. Not because they were less mild than the others, but because I could see some emotional connection between the performers, so the rough elements didn't look so gratuitious. All the others, frankly, just looked like a man or men dominating a woman/women. Not something I want to see, or find enjoyable.

When I was married, my husband and I watched porn films together. I can understand why Myload wants to choose films that appeal to both him and his fiancee, especially if he doesn't have a lot of free time.

You're correct. Perhaps I was too harsh, however, I won't go change it now. That would be cheating.

I can't say why Renee, or give any specific reasons, but I will say this. I had much more of a sense of fun and enjoyment(lightheartedness) in Fashionistas than some other hardcore stuff like in some Service Animals scenes.

I don't really know why, and I can't even say it's because the actors had more of an emotional connection. Although they may have.

I just found it much less shocking, for lack of a better term. It had a real sense of fun, and for that reason, I would say it can't or shouldn't be judged with other dom titles that are floating around these days.

I guess I'm saying, give it a chance.

As a woman I was very enticed into buying a copy of The Fashionistas after reading so many good reviews, but I was also a little hesitant due to the fact that it contains certain acts - face slapping, s&m etc, that put me off wtaching it.
But boy am I glad I got a hold of a copy. I found this movie to be so amazing and mesmerising and totally blow away all my preconceptions. Although it contains rough, hardcore sex it never tries to make it all "circus act" like, and everything is so well done. It's very sophisticated and the psychology of the characters makes the sex scenes even more amazing. Also something that stood out a mile to me was that it all was done so positively. Even in the most intense segements never did I feel like the women weren't enjoying themselves. Unlike a lot of porn that is nowhere even as hardcore as this, there's a really nastiness and misogynist tone to it (which is why I hated Mason's Sexual Disorder - it all felt so negative (I tried to like it but I just coudn't)).
I'd suggest showing your fiance Belladonna's strip tease scene first and when that's over if she doesn't want to watch anymore I'd be highly surprised.
The Fashionistas also contains many scenes that don't feature the S&M or rough sex heavily.
I also felt I learned a lot from this movie and when I did get a (consensual) face slap the other night I can understand the rush!

I can only talk from my personal experiences with my girlfriend, but we found both Fashonistas and Mason's Sexual Disorder incredibly powerful viewing. I think in both movies the people involved are enjoying their scenes, and exploring their sexuality.

We honestly didn't see all the negative stuff. I don't think the movies were misogynistic. They were telling very good stories that involved power exchanges.

It's weird, I couldn't think of two better movies to watch as a couple. For sex, and for conversation. Each to his/her own I guess.
