Hi comrades, do you know how those popular(?) porn sites (hustler, penthouse, for example) operate? You see, once you discontinue as a member, all those pre-downloaded movies are no longer playable because a password is required. My question is, how can those sites attach(?) a password to a movie clip? Is there any way one can still play the movies? Thanks!

Are you referring to DRM protected files?

If so, thats a negative on playing those without a subscription. Pretty sure thats the stuff of Microsoft, and Windows Media Player imposed protections at work.

The password isn't in the file clips, however the clip does inform the player, it needs authorization to play.
I believe WMP then sends home whatever name and PW you give it,
to mother Microsoft, which confirms your subscription is valid, before it signals back to WMP, to play, or deny.

Only problem I have with this, is when paysites don't make it explicitly clear, that when the subscription ends, so do any downloads you have.
I joined the GGG site that employed DRM protection, with full knowledge I wouldn't be keeping anything.
I justified it, simply by making sure I saw to my heart's content, absolutely everything they offered up to see.
