| JMO Member UK 104 Posts 2/01 | Checked the price search for one of VCA's hugely overpriced titles, but only Action-DVD had it at a sensible price, until they added international shipping and it topped $47! I'd like to use the various stores on the price search, but the ones that tend to have the lowest prices also seem to have the most exorbitant shipping costs. Action-DVD aren't the worst at this. DVD-Advantage charge $30 (admittedly for up to 7 disks), and they don't even send you the case. I'm not a cheapskate. Well, I am actually, but I'm more bothered about the magic £18 ceiling ($25 inc shipping) that means a disk gets past HMCustoms without incurring import duty and VAT. Charging $30 or so defeats the purpose of sneaky packaging, as you'd probably pay less in import duty. I wonder if it's not a polite way of turning down overseas business, but I'd rather they'd just say "we don't ship to the UK, so f**k off!" In the long run, I've ordered the disk for a more realistic £17 from Canada (ADVDBO). It might take a while to arrive but these days most transatlantic shipments do anyway.
