I know Hollywood keeps releasing every possible movie in 3D but they will soon stop doing that because people just don't want to pay the extra 3$ for awful 3D and where the movie is so rendered so dark that you can't see the action on screen. Maybe someone can tell me where the appeal is in watching porn in 3D? Is it a question of better perspective?i honestly don't understand it at all. [Link]

The problem i believe is that in the last 5 years HD flat tvs has been the big thing and most people during that time have spent a fair bit upgrading from CRT to HD Tvs. These tvs are still in great condition and unlikely to be upgraded for the next 5 years or so therefore i think it will be a while until HD is common place in most peoples homes [Link]

Nearly every high-end TV sold nowadays is a 3DTV. Now, there's a legitimate argument that most people don't use the functionality, but many more people do have it. 3D phones have basically failed as well, but the market for 3D on a portable (where it is much harder to stay within the 3D sweet spot) is different than the market for 3DTVs.
