I hear you, but what I don't get is why girls keep flocking to LA Direct. So far as I know, they are the most influential and successful agency, and have been for many years.
How does somebody like SPiegler handle contracts? Apparently he's one of the better agents especially compared to this one. I'm just curious.

^Ha! Fair enough my friend. But what I meant by that is more of a question. Why are they so successful when they also have this reputation of basically forcing girls out of the business? I don't mean that they literally force girls out, but the common complaint is that the agency stops getting a girl work, but won't release her from her contract. Of course, we never hear the other side of it. We don't know what the girl's rate is, how easy or difficult she is to work with, etc.

I don't know the ins and outs of porn agencies and their business, but being financially successful or influential has absolutely nothing to do with treating people well or ethically. That much I do know.

2bollocks asked:"How does somebody like SPiegler handle contracts?" spiegler girls don't have to sign a contract, they can quit mark whenever they want.mark works like this for years and he's the best agent.
^ Spiegler is also extraordinarily selective about the performers he will represent. I think he's the first choice of a lot of performers but they can't meet his standards for whatever reason, so then they go to LA Direct.

she's explaining herself on twitter on whats going on.i feel bad for all that happened to her.
Harvey Weinstein also has been the most influential and successful producer for many years. Derek Hay might as well be Harvey Weinsten of porn, all things considered.
Yes, he is and while I don't know if he ask his performers to sign a contract. I am pretty sure that there is at least a verbal contract that he makes sure all his models are aware of and they also know the consequences if they break it. He has never had any problems stopping to represent very popular performers who broke their word to him.

I looked at some of her tweets and I certainly understand her frustration with the kill fees. It seems like a good agency would have her back with that sort of thing, though with the possible exception of Speigler, I think expecting high standards of professionalism and ethics anywhere in the porn industry is probably a fantasy. I think her best bet right now is to take a little break and if she doesn't have too long left on her contract, maybe just sit that time out and then sign up with a different agency. If her end of contract is still pretty far out and she wants to keep working, fine, but at least take a break of some kind.
Seeing as her message to Kissa was in December then she isn't pregnant anymore. I read most of her recent tweets and while I have a hard time believing some of them. The one thing that I am sure of is that she needs to leave the industry for a long time because she is not in a good place right now and doing porn is definitely not something she should be considering. At this point I only hope she gets all the helps she needs.

for a long time?and what is she supposed to do after her break?do you have a job for her?

Which tweets don't you believe in? It seems you don't believe other models in general (like in your posts in Charlotte Cross and Hadely Viscara threads) that spoke out against Derek Hay and give him the benefit of the doubt every time.
I don't see anything inherently wrong with kill fees. Producers, performers, crew, etc. incur costs when a shoot is booked. They lose money when a performer doesn't show up on set or can't perform in a scene.

^I think the one where she cancelled two weeks in advance is pretty unreasonable though. That's more than enough time to book another girl for the scene, which is what they should have done. As for the one where she starved herself, I'm not sure. It seems wrong, but then again, what exactly is the producer supposed to do in that situation?
Ahhh.. she tried to kill herself. Seems like this is a pretty big deal. Girl needs to get out of porn and get help ASAP. Seems like she's been working non stop for a few years, smoking a lot of weed, drinking, etc. (as seen on her social media postings). Clearly it's taken it's toll. Too many girls have been lost lately to suicide. She posted she's seeking help. She's a very young girl. I'd rather never see her again in porn and live a good life. It's sad.

^You're right, of course. Definitely seems like she should take a break, and if she never comes back, then that's just the way it goes.
Just read her twitter, oh my this girl needs to leave the industry asap for the sake of her mind, body, and soul. She is such a hottie and says that her boyfriend is super supportive of her. I find that a little suspect because if that is the case why did she attempt to take her own life. I think it's incredibly sad what Derek has/is doing to her but that is beyond her control. To get to a place in your life where you actually attempt suicide means something is very wrong. She also mentions that she loves her job, and I can understand how wanting to do your job, be successful, and make money to pay your bills, but not being able to because of a scumbag like Hay, but at the end of the day is that really worth your life? I have enjoyed every scene I've seen her in and she is a tremendous performer, but I'd much rather her get her life right than to become yet another victim of this industry.

Damn, it really saddens me to read all of this awful stuff Adria has been dealing with. Needless to say, I hope she is able to step away from the industry and get all the help she needs. Most importantly, I hope she has family and/or friends that she can depend on for support.
No one can help a person with mental issues apart from themselves, its isnt suspect that even with a supportive partner someone wants to harm themselves. Sometimes the support may even drive someone further because they think they dont deserve it and it makes them feel bad. Thats one of the sicker parts of depression, that even if you have people who care that you push them away. People with objectively great lives kill themselves all the time. Think about all those celebs that took their lives. Depression doesnt discriminate. I dont think we will see her again in the industry and thats great for her. She isnt made for it and had terrible experiences. Great performer, stunning woman and one of my favourites but her happiness and health is so much more important. I wish her all the best.
Nothing with wrong with a kill fee because of emergency abortion and suicide attempt? Wiith 2 weeks notice you can easily solve that. Even with 24-48 hours notice - even same day replacements happen all the time. Kill fees should be for when a girl fucks up not for when they are physically incapacitated. Those kill fees weren't justified, it was all about profit. Odd how people are ignoring agency related tweets from the previous and even this page and are blaming the entire industry while the root of her and other several models' problems is their agency LA Direct and Derek Hay specifically based on what they said. 2 of LA Direct models already committed suicide not too long ago and another one tried to take her own life - must be just a coincidence. Who knows how many other of his models have suicidal thoughts because of his actions.
Some girls are already very fragile when entering this industry. Adria herself told of a story of lack of family support and possible molestation by her brother (since deleted). That on top of how young a lot of these girls are has a huge effect on their mental make up. If she returns, hopefully she will be in a better position to handle the negativity going on in her life. I know at her age, I would have never been able to handle all the attention, living on her own, drugs, sex, etc going on. And hopefully the recent suicides within the industry has helped open the eyes of others and it does seem there is more support within. She's one of the hottest girls in porn and hopefully she gets the help she needs.

^ People seem too focused on mental fragility, etc, rather than what this whole thing is really about, which is the predatory practices by a representative that's supposed to have your best interests in mind, but instead fucks you over at every turn. I can't count how many female performers over the years I've heard make this exact complaint against LA Direct and Derek Hay specifically. Look at the responses from fellow performers to her on twitter today. They all know what's going on here. It's not about truth, it's about power and relative lack of power. I give her a huge amount of credit, because she's speaking openly about it, no doubt to her detriment.
She just tweeted about how her agent banned her from working with her boyfriend and had the nerve to use August Ames' name as a reason why, since her boyfriend apparently "cyberbullied" someone
Adria is one of the top performers on my list. I hope she gets/feels better soon, even quit shooting porn if she wants to. I don't want to hear about another performer commiting suicide, period.
^^That's what I had been thinking during this thread. Maybe after this experience she understands how it's wrong because she has been the victim of this herself now.
6^ Derek tends to unfairly blacklist performers from working with his models - like one time when he blacklisted Logan Pierce because he refused to shoot with one of his models who had expired 14-day test. [Tweet is no longer available]

You'd think so, but you wouldn't know it judging by the responses here *on her own thread!* I can understand why performers wouldn't speak out about this LA Direct bullshit, it no doubt affects their day to day lives, but why random internet posters that are here because they are (presumably) fans of hers' default response is to excuse it?? I don't have a good answer for that.

^ Harrowing, but familiar. Again, good on her for coming out with all of it. That's what it's going to take.
That's fucking horrible. The poor woman is having a miscarriage and all you can do to help is to charge her for all the shoots you had to cancel while she was going through hell. Who the fuck kind of person are you. And that Kelli person is horrible try to bully a woman. Scum.
I'm starting to back peddle a little bit about him after reading that. This is more of a he said she said issue now. We are outsiders looking on and it's very difficult to be certain about the truth.
It really is a horribly sad situation. I know there a number of folk here who merely see this is a inconvenience to getting off to more new releases at most, but given the way industry has been for the last several months now, I really hope she takes time off whatever happens in the short run. Speaking as a G/G fan, she is certainly a top tier performer for me, and I gather that's the case with many of her B/G fans too. Best damn smile in the business also. Can never get enough of her scenes. As for the agency, I'm sure it's been mentioned, this isn't a first and it won't be the last incident until something drastic happens and performers, certainly under their contract who've experienced this shit stand up. Some past ones already have I've seen, but has anyone else currently under contract done so? How they instigated bomb reporting her original account too in getting it suspended for apparently saying the word 'cunt' seemingly is also farcical beyond belief, but also unsurprising given Twitter's direction since last year.
^3 This isn't going to be a popular post. I read the tumblr blog and frankly don't see anything wrong with her agency's response. The agency looks to have been actively looking for and getting her assignments. She appears to have been booked solid. They were doing their job here. She had a few personal issues which caused her to cancel shoots. Based on the text messages she posted, her agency was emphatic with the situation but reminded her of cancellation fees that are assessed by the producers NOT them. It looks like she got mad they didn't go to bat for her and try to get these fees removed by the producers. She took her case to the Internet. Fans and disgruntled current and/or former LADM girls appear to be the ones publicly supporting her position. I don't see one top (e.g., Adriana Chechik, Megan Rain, Darcie Dolce, Jill Cassidy, Mia Malkova, Natalia Starr, Tori Black, etc.) LA Direct girl chiming in with agreement. I don't think she's doing herself any favors by blasting the three producers who charged these fees. She might get her cancellation fees reimbursed because of bad PR but you can be sure they aren't going to book her again after this. I'm sure these producers sympathize when emergencies come up. However, the fact remains that when a scheduled shoot is cancelled they lose money. Are they supposed eat these fees? No, this is business. The cost is passed on to the person who caused the cancellation.
^That's what I was thinking too. I know I've been(perhaps unfairly) critical of DH recently but from what I see here, he doesn't appear to be the monster he's portrayed as and it's not proof of wrong doing. Actually the agency doesn't look so bad there and it looks like Adria is wrong about claiming that he tried to get her to delay the abortion for 11 weeks. There are always two sides to a story and although I won't go into it, there is also "dirt" on Adria Rae. I agree that it wasn't a good idea to bring this to social media. If it's true about her mental health and suicide attempts it's best for her to retire and seek the help she needs.
^&^^Not a single thing I read in those post makes Derek look bad. In fact he appears to have been both understanding and helpful to Adria on multiple occasions. It doesn't help Adria's case that that Derek is some kind of monster when she admits that they had a very good relationship for 2 1/2 years which is basically all the time she has been in the industry. From what I can read her feelings toward Derek and LA Direct seem to have soured when she found out that her new boyfriend was on her agencies no list and therefore they were likely never going to work together. She appeared to be okay with most of the kill fees she was charged and only got really pissed when she was charged the one where she fainted on a Mason set. It really doesn't help her case that she lied to Derek about the reason for why she fainted and it probably doesn't help that the some people must have suspected that something was wrong with her because 50 Xanax is unlikely to make you a very cognitive. All I hope is that Adria finds the professional help she clearly needs to get better and looks for another way to earn a living because nothing good will come from her doing more porn. If a girl claims to have attempted suicide at least twice then you know that she has thought about it way more than that and while she failed the first times. Sooner or later one of her attempts may succeed and that would be a tragedy.
