I am really sick and pissed off at the price gouging and lack of service aimed at the gay community. And I'm not blaming Adult DVD Empire specifically - it is the entire industry. I keep hearing industry insiders complaining that piracy is destroying their market. Well, I've never pirated a video for myself or for anyone else although I've just changed my mind on the issue. When companies like Falcon reissue old titles on DVD (including a few that were lame to begin with) and then have the chutzpah to charge $90 (or more) a disc as a suggested list price, they DESERVE all the piracy they get.

I don't mind a small premium (say 20 or 25%) for gay titles, but the $45 to $60 street prices for premium titles from major producers is ridiculous and unconscionable! I realize that there is a smaller market for gay titles. However, one of the BIG reasons for that smaller market is that existing price structures prevent many gays from participating in any way except by piracy, cutting significantly into producers' & distributors' profits from those high prices.

Adult DVD Empire, it isn't all your fault, but your lack of service is the trigger. I hereby declare that the top street price for a premium, gay-themed DVD from a major studio shall be $30.00 and I will never again pay 1 cent more. If the market can't provide, I'll take my business elsewhere and/or find other channels to satisfy my tastes for pornographic entertainment.

The statistics were valid as of the dates of the posts. They represented shopping CAREFULLY for the LOWEST AVAILABLE PRICES for titles available at that time. BTW, your establishment rarely has the lowest prices for gay titles and the differential between gay and straight title prices taken from your website is WORSE than the overall average.

Again, you are not the only offender. The industry as a whole must bear a great deal of the blame. However, the fight has to begin somewhere.

Anything you can do to resolve the inequity will be greatly appreciated.
