My first order with Adult Media Network pretty much just finished so I thought I'd do a report on them. I ordered two titles, both of which were quite a bit cheaper than I could get them elsewhere. The site was okay, but was a bit tough to navigate through for some of the sale areas since there's so much there. I ordered them on the 8th and they shipped on the 20th. It was nicely packaged and discreetly labeled, which I appreciate. On the negative side, I never received a shipping confirmation, which I like to get so that I can keep my eyes open for it, and I don't think I received an e-mail to let me know that my items were on backorder or were going to take a while to ship. The only reason I knew to look forward to this order was that since after a week and a half went by I checked their site for the order status, which was nicely organized and easy to get through. Up until then, I was pretty happy with them. Then my credit card statement arrived today and I found out that they charge the credit card when you order.

So in the end for this order...
Price - A
Communication - D-
Packaging - A
Charging Practice - F

Thanx for the report, Astro. I haven't given them a try yet but it is a little disappointing to see they aren't quite up to better standards of other companies I frequent.

Hi AstroKnight,
I was wondering if you received an email confirmation of the order immediately after the time of purchase. Shipping confirmations are sent out via a script that runs every night at 1 AM. It takes customer emails with ship dates for the day prior and emails them more or less a version of the online tracking page. Some of the problem is domain filters such as AOL where an email ends up in junk mail or undelivered.
I also suspect some email is unnoticed because we use the domain amn-corp.com versus adultmedianetwork.net. This is again due to filters that sometimes filter out emails with domains that have "adult" in the domain.
Regarding the charges, the charge upon ordering is more a matter of software we purchased rather than company policy. We are trying to get the software changed. For now we have handled this by issuing refunds for unshipped merchandise or orders cancelled by customers. We do not do any handling fees or restock fees.
In March, people will start to see more details on product browsing regarding shipping times and back order status before purchasing.
Thanks for the feedback. We will be using your comments to prioritize these issues.

Hey eric,
yes, I did get an order confirmation very soon after placing the order, but all it had were the items and the prices. There was nothing there about the stock status of the items. Thanks for letting us know about why you charge right away, but you might want to let people know that somewhere on the order confirmation. I currently have one item that's been "on order" at another affilaite since last July (or maybe it was August), and have had other items from them take several months to arrive. I know I'm not alone in knowing that I'd be pretty pissed if a title took that long to arrive when the credit card was charged right away.
