I look at the recent releases at adultdvdempire every day, if not every other day.

If their most recent release dvd is a day or two old, I do an advanced search to view the movies that have been released in the last week. Sometimes the Recent Release link doesn't get updated with the most current info.

The problem now is I can't get the advanced search option to display all the movies in the last week - even if I click the ALL button ! I have a pretty good idea that they have added movies to their inventory since 10/7/05 - the date of their most recent release.

Ideas?

we have been upgrading some hardware this week and performing routine maintenance. the search should work now...also, i know the recent releases haven't' updated since 10/7, this should be fixed shortly...

When I click on their links for a title, all I get is an error message. Makes it tuff to shop.

My computer is fast but when I get to the Empire DVD site it seems to stop dead--takes forever to add a title to my rentals list.

I search for a performer--click on the name--then nothing.
It goes back to another page.

Disappointing.

AztecGold11,
can you email me with details on this problem? i'm having no luck duplicating this on my machine.

as mentioned previously, we did have some issues with search and box art last week (see above post). however, the upgrades and maintenance are complete and the site should run normally.

my email is mikeb@dvdempire.com

Clicking on an ADT search result for adultdvdempire still gives me the following message:

An unexpected error has occurred. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Well, MasterB, allow me to jump in here with the observation that the only thing ADE has been doing in a timely manner is answering my problem queries by e-mail with empty reassurances (like the above). Unfortunately though, nothing ever gets fixed.

Also, because of your more than 2-week turnaround times, I cancelled my recent Gold Rental membership with ADE this morning. This membership was intended to replace my similar (3-at-a-time) account with Xrent because of minor perceived problems plus you were $5 cheaper.

Now I'm glad I didn't leave Xrent. Your company's performance is so bad by comparison, it makes Xrent look like "Company of the Year."

that's really strange. It works fine for me in both IE and mozilla. Try dumping your empire cookies and give it a shot again. I had a problem once a while ago where my empire shopper ID cookie became associated with their gay site. When I would click from our price search to a staight title I would get errors. Dropping my cookies fixed the problem. It was at least a year ago that this happened.

well, fatalbert, i'm not sure how that relates to the search issue...but let me be the first to apologize for the poor rental performance.

if you care to email me personally, i'd love to investigate this instance of a "more than 2 week turn around." i certainly have not seen this kind of lag in the 2-plus years of our rental division, and i am interested in finding out what happened.

thanks for the input.

I've got no problem e-mailing you, MasterB, I just don't see the point since I've already canceled.

For the record, you shipped my first 3 rentals on 9/30. Two arrived on 10/4, and the other on 10/5. I kept each overnight and put each IN the post office to return (two on 10/5, one on 10/6).

Your company notified me by e-mail that 2 new discs shipped to me on 10/11, and the 3rd on 10/13. I received one disc in yesterday's (10/19) mail, and have not yet seen the other two. So, that's 2+ weeks (15 days) turnaround on one disc, and I guess we'll see on the other two.

For your confirmation of my account, my name is Al Foster and my street address is 124 8th.

Oh, and to address your dismay about my use of this thread...your site's search function sucks too.

My guess is they want to look into what happened so it doesn't happen again to any customer. From my experience ADE has tried very hard to fix issues with their company.

Flash, I thank you for your efforts in what must be a difficult and unsung job. And I agree that ADE tries VERY hard to fix problems, i.e., they reply to e-mails promptly. In my case, however, nothing has actually BEEN fixed.

In my business, it is not enough to wring my hands and assure my customers that a problem "is being looked into." I have to just go fix the damn thing. Now, if ADE is incapable of fixing things, I wish they would tell me so rather than try to pacify me with empty assurances.

And, to ADE (referring to my last post), I didn't receive any discs in my 10/20 mail either, so time marches on, does it not? Please don't blame USPS either, because Xrent has been halving your turnaround time, which is almost laughable because the reason I first signed with you was because I believed they were (and still are) throttling my shipments.

Same for me. I've been getting these error messages since I started shopping at the website but it seems to happen more frequently now. There are days when I can't see any movies at all.
