My go-to retailer, XRentDVD, appears to no longer be part of ADT's referral service. Since I want to support ADT by buying from connected retailers (click-thru's), I'm curious who people recommend. Lowest price isn't the most important. I'll pay a higher price if the company has good customer service.
Bargain Adult DVD has always been fast and reliable for me. They are a sister site of Adultdvdempire and offer pretty much the same inventory for a couple bucks cheaper per DVD. Edit: And I do hope Xrent finds its way back to the heaving bosom of ADT. I used to buy from them fairly regularly, but once they dropped off the price search, I've found that I don't visit their site anymore. Convenience is next to godliness...or something. I love DVDexplorer has anyone else used them? They are super fast, prices are good and I have not yet had a problem. I just wish they did kickbacks. I used to buy from Fivestar only.
I'll eat the extra 2 bucks or whatever for speed and reliability. If I lived on the West Coast, or ordered a lot more porn than I do, I'd certainly look elsewhere.
I buy most of my porn at ADE, but sometimes even with the kickback, other sites (usually adultdvdmarketplace) are significantly less expensive. So I buy from there.
I've been with ADE for several years now. They are my favorite, and now sole retailer for Adult rentals. I do live in the southeast US, and since ADE is located in the northeast, they ship very quickly to me. If ya live in the mid-west or the east coast, ADE is the choice. They are very reliable and the customer service is superb.
Yep. Houston. I don't understand why ADM doesn't just get with the program and ship here. It's beyond irritating...lol

It probably has to do with obscenity laws and the Miller Test (since Texas is more conservative than other areas). They probably just don't want to risk shipping something considered obscene in your community. I love living in Godless Connecticut :)
Here's a guess about why Adult DVD Marketplace won't take orders for some areas: ADM doesn't ship the item but they do process the transaction. They would end up getting dragged into an obscenity trial if one of their sellers ended up selling something they shouldn't sell to an area that might be a little more strict about community standards. Adult DVD Empire is different. They ship their own items AND review the content of the movies they are selling. Empire has a system where they can blacklist specific movies going to specific areas depending on the content of the movie. I think they are unique in this capability. This allows them to sell most items into areas like Houston but selectively not ship items that could land them in court.
I'm only renting these days, but I've always had good experiences buying from Adult DVD Empire. I've also been happy with Adult Video Universe. XRentDVD remains my favorite, so I hope they do what they need to do to get back in the good graces of Steph and Drew.
Empire's been very good to me. Although sometimes a bit higher, they've been very reliable and their sales have been well worth paying attention to. My only real complaint about them is that although they list a lot of pre-orders, they never list the anticipated release date so a person knows if it's something coming out next week or in three months. "I do not as a rule seek advice about food from thin people..." - Jeffrey Steingarten
They DO have a pre-release section. They don't, however, list the date the title is due (most likely because Adult release dates aren't as reliable as Mainstream): Prebooks Edited by - TheLoneGunman on 2/11/2008 3:19:35 PM

Dang it guys (and gals) no votes for us? What can we do to get your business? We have been with ADT for almost a year now so you should be seeing us come up in the price search regularly as we tend to have excellent prices. Let me know!
AdultDVDPacific: This really ought to be its own thread, but one of the things that makes me seriously look at a retailer is box art. I want to be able to see a fairly good sized image of BOTH sides of the box. All the retailers I tend to use offer that. I skip retailers who have postage-stamp sized images, or only front and no back covers. The prices don't have to be the lowest, as long as they're reasonably in line with the competition (I'm not going to pay double what everyone else wants). But when I'm browsing and deciding what I want, I put a premium on box art. Good or bad, one of the things I really liked about Xrentdvd is their website. Good box art (both sides), lots of links, easy to navigate, and didn't take me much work to figure it out.

Your site seems to be solid. But I agree with jayo. It seems that you don't even offer pictures of the DVDs' backcovers. But your prices seem good and I like your low shipping costs. I'll keep you in mind next time I order a DVD. If you do decide to include backcovers, I would suggest making it easy to view them. I know some sites make you jump through hoops to see them (i.e. you have to register). There is one site, I can't remember what it is, that simply asks you if you are over 18 when you click on the link to see the backcover. I like this because it is easy.

Thanks for feedback guys! You will be happy to know we are presently working on these issues right now and hope to them in place in the very near future (should be 3-4 weeks). Update will include full front and back digital images for all titles, UPC Code, Description and Performer Lists with cross referencing. We are also adding novelties at the same time and information for these will be same as for DVD's.
I use DVDPacific all the time too. They are great. But since you are in the process of making some changes I would like to make a suggestion. I don't care that much about the size of box covers. Of course it's a bit annoying they are that small on your site and not easy to look at but if I want to view the full cover I can just have a quick look at some other site (which is something you would actually want to prevent lol). But one thing that's always bugging me on your site is the browsing system. You can browse by Studio and by Pornstar but there is no way to browse by genre which is what I usually do. Are you going to change that too in the future?
Do you Not find that DVDExplorer take a long time getting products in Stock? I ordered Big Wet Asses 12 in December and it still hasn't been despached to me yet.
I know, I'm late chiming in on the topic, but I like buying from the following sites: - ADE - BargainAdult (ADE sister site - a little cheaper, only email contact, no participate in kickbacks, no backcover pics) - Movies By Mail (only ships via USPS though - hence the name) - Action DVD - Xrentdvd - Red Light video May be a separate topic, but I use Jadedvideo.com for research & pre-release info (they seem to have the most extensive listing of both) :-)

We have just made some big improvements to the search function at www.dvdpacific.com and those same changes will also come on line with the changes and improvements currently being undertaken at www.adultdvdpacific.com and will be inline with your suggestion I appreciate all your feedback on this as we intend to make our site as user friendly as possible.
I decided to try you out tonight and placed my first order, nice pricing. What does the Instock 2 -3 days icon mean? I didn't see an answer on the site. I could have missed it though.
I found adultdvdpacific to have excellent communication, replying to my emails the same day, usually within a couple of hours. Adultdvdbestdeal has the worst communication. They ignored 6 of my emails and it looks like it will cost them a credit card chargeback for a faulty dvd.
I don't rent...but as far as purchasing DVD's I've had excellent results from: Adult DVD Empire- New & used,fast shipping,great service!Discounts,awesome selection...A+ Adult DVD Now-Great service,fast shipping!Discounts,coupons...A+
I used them once and never will again. I ordered a DVD from them on 10/25 and on 10/27 received an e-mail saying it was backordered and the textthen on 11/6 I received an e-mail telling meWhen I received this e-mail they still had the title up for ordering and did for quite a while afterwards (they have removed it now) and the title is still in print to this day. I e-mailed them to let them know that I wanted to just cancel the order and never heard back. Since I didn't hear a response I checked my credit card statements for the next two months, they never did charge me. I don't like and distrust stores that try to get me to swap my purchase and they could have taken the few seconds to let me know that my order was indeed cancelled. empire and adultdvdnow have got to be the top dawgs. and your going to have top customer service with both. if a company can't get back to you within 24 business hours, you have to assume that something is going on behind the scenes of that company and that either they are- a) understaffed/overworked or b) they don't take the customers' as a number one priority either way, its the customer that drives a website and as such you should only expect the best service when you order. the fact that both adultdvdnow and adultdvdempire have both been selling online for sooooo long should be ample reason enough to feel more than comfortable ordering with them; whether internationally or locally. and if you do a search for these stores in terms of the long history of good customer service here at adt, you will see that they both have a top-notch customer service track record. for current 'newer' retailers trying to get more customers, as always getting new releases online asap is muy importanto. and having good looking backcovers and fronts is VERY important. perfecting the genre search and potentially having multiple genres or a subgenre category would be desireable. for example, there are many MILF titles, but what if a customer is looking for MILF/ POV titles? so genre to subgenre makes shopping the easiest and most enjoyable in my opinion. this way, old and new releases don't get lost in the mix and are right at the virtual customers' fingertips when searchin! Adult DVD Pacific sure looks interesting but is extremely text heavy. maybe instead of listing all studios you could have a drop down menu? and on a quick browse i just did, i don't see boxcovers on a few titles? hmmmmm
It is unfortunate that your emails were ignored. We respond to every email so I believe that it's possible that junk mail filters with mail servers were involved. We do not have junk mail filters on our end. Please contact me if/when you can at gabe@adultdvdbestdeal.com. I'd like to get problems/issues resolved even if this happened in the past. For your help i'd happily send you a Free DVD. Best Deals for Adult DVDs on the net!
If possible please email me at gabe@adultdvdbestdeal.com. This is the first time i've heard about all of these issues and I'd like to get them all solved and prevented in the future. Best Deals for Adult DVDs on the net!
Hello Flash. I apologize for the inconvenience with your order. I wasn't able to look up your particular order/situation but something that does happen (on rare occasion) is that you may order something and when the order is printed the piece is no longer on the shelf. We normally order the item right away from the manufacturer. From your situation I gather that the manufacturer informed us later than normal that they could not provide us with the item because it would have been discontinued. We normally take these items off our site by the next day. If you have any information on this situation that you can remember I'd like to go over it to ensure that no one else goes through this. I was wondering if you had an update on your changes to your browsing system? I like your prices, and your email communication & shipping prices are great, but it is hard to find movies on your site, especially if I want to browse by genre. Thanks!
Just to add to the discussion, I've also been with X-Rent DVD for several years and the service is great. I do miss the free shipping, but the low shipping cost of 3.99 isn't so bad compared to other retailers. They seem to be the only retailer that provides photo updates on Missionary Pictures' pre-releases, which is a huge plus for me as I'm a big fan of Lex's company. Actually, X-Rent does this for the majority of pre-releases. I don't have any renting experience with X-Rent, but as for purchasing used and new DVDs with discount prices, it's a great deal.
Thanks for your support. FYI, free shipping is still available but has a 3-item purchase minimum. The cost per DVD for free shipments was too high for 1 and 2 item orders so rather than abandon the program altogether, we instituted a minimum.
We are implementing changes and it is taking much longer than I anticipated or would like but unfortunately that is the way these things work some times and I apologise to you and all our customers for the delays in overhauling the adult side of our site. The search function is currently being worked on to improve it's operation inclusive of genre searching as you have requested. We are also adding adult toys and adult products to our database presently and these should be online within the next couple of weeks.
