I like tattoos. GOOD tattoos. Not the half-assed poorly inked uncreative crap that so many girls get. Really, who is doing the work for these girls? Is it the brother of the borderline incompetent plastic surgeon who does the horrendous boob jobs? Do they get a package deal or something?
That's the key word. I'm not on the 'no ink' bandwagon, but there are some really poor tattoos to be seen. Please, dear porn starlets out there, don't just get a little blotch of random stuff here and there. Don't get stuff scribbled on you either. If someone wants a tattoo they should follow through with it and not settle for something half-assed. Make it body-art and make it big. Like the angel all over Daisy Marie's back, that's one of the coolest tats I've ever seen.
I agree. If you are going to mark up your body, do it right! Most tattoos on porn stars turn me off. However, Angel Vain has a nice sleeve on her arm and Jandi Lin has a nice tattoo on her back (or did, I haven't seen a recent pic of her). Please talent, don't incessantly mark up your body -- some directors won't hire you with bad tattoos.
hey it's not just the women who have some bad tattoos. there are guys in this business that have some not so good looking tattoos as well. at least i can tolerate bad tattoos better on women than i can on men. i bet there are some that regret having the tattoos they have now. take my hand and swear eternal loyalty---to zod! Some girls might not want to work in Alt Porn but they are heavily tattooed so that kind of limits there options. Wait to see if you really need/want the implants. People that like all natural will like you at first. Then if you have to get them you will gain the fans of fake boobs.
Totally agree. Sasha Grey, Faye Reagan and Amia Miley are perfect examples of true beauty - no tats, no implants and all-natural hair color. I even hate it when they use too much makeup to try and cover Faye's adorable freckles.
I'm thinking a lot of girls care more about their personal happiness than business decisions. Adult is an industry of renegades. Why should they start toeing the line now?
While not a fan of excessive (IMO) ink, if you don't like that particular talent, plenty of other fish in the porn sea are available.

I've never seen a tattoo that I didn't think was ugly as shit... Fortunately, there are plenty of girls doing porn that don't ugly themselves up with tats.
There are two types of tattoos: Bad and Hideous. I've learned to tolerate a small amount on a girl if I really like her big time and can just ignore the crime scene (example: Tiffany Hopkins); otherwise it's fast forward time when the tattoos appear and with some girls that I know are particularly disfigured I just pass on buying the dvd in the first place.

I know what you're saying. And I think half of it is that they get tats just to get tats. I love the chinese script on non asians, and also the "tribal" arm bands on white people. The you get the pussy tats, as if the pussy needs any help. Girls, the pussy looks good enough on it's own, it doesn't need any help. I remember a Chris Rock bit in along the lines of those Bud Light "Real People of Genius" bits. It's called "Real People of Ignorance" and it follows the Bud Light bits. In it, they salute girls with pussy tats. At the end of it, the say to the girls, "people don't ask you if you're going to the afterparty, you are the afterparty!" The funny thing is, the first thing that a girl does after a blowbang is hit the showers to get all the genetic dirt off, but they have no problem with permanent dirt on their bodies.
Its weird. I wish Janine never got all those tats but I think Joanna Angel and Adrenalynn look great heavily tattooed. A small tattoo such as a small one on the lower back, arm, ankle, etc. for the most part is never distracting to me. I know this is about girls but the only tattoo that really bugs me is the "I love Fiona" on Marco. :)
I also agree that there is too much ink on some of these performers. I am not totally against tattoos in fact I think a tattoo can enhance some appeal. I just hate when they overdue it, and they become eyesores. Just like a beautiful painting on someones wall in their home can make that room look better, a bad tattoo on a woman can make her look so bad.
I love my tats and I am a fan of ink in personal situations. . . . However, not for women or men in porn. It certainly limits the talents' potential onscreen choices. ALT will not be around forever, and it makes it very difficult for features and any "mainstream" work that might come along.
A couple of them on the right place is not that bad, I mean my favorite pornstars hae them (Trina Michaels and Kelly Divine) but I don't like it when they go all overboard like the whole arm like Janine and Kylie Ireland for example. I mean they're pornstars, not rockstars so why all the ink?

yeah, that's really main problem. where i think agents and agencies really should focus on is the crouch tat. the one right above the "goods." A bad one down there means i won't watch you.
since tattoos are so trendy right now, girls who are going to allow the dicks of strangers in their bodies on film, are probably more likely to adorn their skin in excessive and unnecessary ink (imo). this generation's children will almost surely be tattoo-free, cuz all their parents will have so many.
I've seen a fair few porn producers and photographers moan about tattoos and I'm sure that gets back to the agents. Even with alt-porn I'd be surprised if agents weren't doing their best to discourage their performers from covering themselves in ink. I think perhaps agents don't have quite as much control over performers as some people assume. I'm sure quite a few things would be different (not necessarily better) if performers did everything their agent said... It's ironic though, I've seen some of the wackier anti-porn types claim that tattoos are forced on girls by their pimps/agents as a brand of ownership. To be honest, looking at some of the worst tattoos on porn girls, I can understand why they wouldn't believe they chose them willingly...

Quite the opposite actually. These heavily tatted idiots are taking their kids to the Ink store as 15th birthday presents.
Considering every other chick is sporting some kind of tat, it's more an expression of mindless herd mentality than 'personal choice'. The tattoo has become for young women what the mullet was for men in the 80's- A horrible fashion trend that the sheep can't help but follow. Except you didn't need surgery to remove a mullet!

This entire thread is a cryptic attack on Monique Alexander. At least have the balls to come right out and say it.
We shot a feature comedy (which will be out in April)and during the 2 day break in between the 8 shooting days, our lead actress went out and got a big tat on her arm. It was so funny that she couldn't wait until we finished the movie. Since we shoot all of our movies out of scene order, if you look closely when this movie comes out, you might see the tat on her arm, then in the next scene it might be gone, then it will come back again and so forth. I remember a time when we couldn't shoot any Barely Legal movies with any tats. Note to ladies: Please do not get those huge tats on the back of your neck or above your butts and never get a tat of your current boyfriend's name because you will sooner or later break up with Hector only to start dating Johnny and Johnny won't like it nor will Bobby after you leave Johnny.

As cool as she is I am still in shock that Adrenalynn got that tatoo on her O-Ring of the guys name. That would definitely irritate me if I was her new BF. However; on that note, what would be hysterical is if the girl does a name tat on her body, you could have her do 3 or 4 guys and then make a big production of having the guys spank it off onto the guy's name.
instead of a tattoo, it could be the guy's name written in tan lines. many tattoos look like targets. might as well aim for something. on some women the harder challenge is finding a clear spot.

Jeff is right. When I was doing Hotel Erotica Cabo for HBO/Cinemax I told my casting director to avoid girls with large tats. We had to give that plan up after a week. It was impossible. We needed over 50 girls and our selection pool would have been about 10. On season 2, shot in Florida, virtually every girl we saw had a 'tribal' above the ass tattoo. What is it with Florida? Any good shooter knows it kills the lines of the body. Enough with the tats, if the script calls for it use temps.
To each his/her own. I'm sure these girls have done lots of things over the protests of disapproving peers, probably including porn. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
I dislike tats. There was a scene in JM's Outrageous Outtakes series where a girl shows up for makeup at the studio and had just gotten this enormous tat over her whole front. They practically laugh her off the set, and the director calls her agent and yells him the girl is ruined. And the girl just sat there and cried, very sad. In terms of just being a business person, I would think the actresses would avoid tats because it is going to take them out of some people's interest. Daisy Marie? Heartbreaking.
