It was extremely successful because Carter is new and fresh. Alexis on the other hand has been doing scenes since 2006. So if she did do one scene or even a full movie like Nikki Benz it wouldn't have much impact.
I was just rewatching miss texas recent scenes since her 'comeback' if we can call it that and just realized that she shaved off her bush it's not a big deal but I used to love it.
The real question is in 2015 why is one of the most popular adult icons in the world stuck using video capture tech that looks to be from the 70s? Whatever she's using makes VHS look cutting edge. lol

Primarily because when Nikki did her scene it didn't have a lot of controversy based on past issues like Alexis. So her movie did extremely well. Same with Samantha Saint.
^ She's directing her own movies now. I'm sure she could do a scene or two with other companies, but this is a pipe dream. Similar to my wanting Nina Hartley to work with Jules Jordan doing an ass worship movie 10 or 15 years ago. Everyone wanted to see Nina do a fantastic anal scene without pausing or "teaching" the guy how to do it. Complete ass worship and not cute couples shit. I see the same thing with Alexis Texas. she has hordes of fans who will jump at her new releases. She knows this and so does Elegant Angel. That's why they gave her a directing contract. Through this thread I found she did movies in Japan where it isn't as graphic as here and they paid her TONS of money. She's worked with Mason, yeah. But for some reason I doubt she'd work with someone to truly showcase her phat ass and a great anal scene. Unless he coughs up an absurd amount of money and I mean an absurd amount of money. Well, that's my point. She's being beyond selective. I can see her point. Her choice, no worries. But I will be the first in line, after the DVD is released, to buy one from Tushy.com is she is in it and it is directed by Lansky. Again, the women for Elegant Angel used to line up to do their "1st" anal scene with that. My girl Caroline Pierce did hers and boom she was done with anal. I know they paid her a STUPID TON of money to do it. I don't see much of a financial risk if Lansky gave her a five figure paycheck and ideas for a showcase or couple of scenes and had her say no. I do NOT see her doing Blacked, but could do a Tushy, non-exclusive, movie and rake in the money as it fell from the sky.
The industry isn't what it used to be. New kids are downloading scenes and the "free" sites are killing it altogether. Adult DVD Empire is now trying to be like Amazon and Neflix, releasing movies themselves and hoping everyone rushes there to make them more money. Look at Elegant Angel. They just keep releasing comps and their new material is done by directors who have zero skill at all.
