Haven't been to this thread often. Has she ever said why her RAW shoot with Manuel didn't happen? The way I remember: It was booked, she tweeted about it, then Manuel tweeted' today didn't go as planned' or something like that. Maybe it was just scheduling, but anyone have any more info?

I'm just going to take the girl at her word. She wrote that: 1. The Kink scene pushed her over the edge. 2. She didn't blame the Kink team, that they were doing their job. 3. I only discovered her right before she quit. Damn shame because she had taken Asa Akira's place as my favorite Asian. But if she was unhappy in the biz and thinks she can find what she's looking for somewhere else, then I wish her nothing but the best. I hope she finds whatever it is she's looking for.

Boy, I am so glad that the moderators haven't locked this thread.
alina li sudden retirement makes me wonder how many porn stars out there TRULY love their job. Judging by her positive, cheerful comments about her scenes we all thought she was enjoying the sex, but instead she was slowly starting to dislike it. I believe that maintaining a sex-positive attitude is more beneficial for stars both financially and socially. I wish there was some way to find out which stars love their job versus the ones who dislike it. sadly that will never happen.
Unfortunately a pornstar not enjoying what they are doing is instantly putting their career at risk, even though we all know once the camera stops rolling the reality may be somewhat different. But no matter what in the eyes of the viewers they have to be doing it because they are super-horny nymphs and not doing it simply for the money or to pay the rent, or worse ... I think it would be very naive for us to think that they are all the shiny happy people we seen onscreen because they are after all simply playing a part to win a gig. I think Alina has quit at the right time, hopefully she has made a bucket load of cash to give her a start ...

Just in addition to this... I made a bad decision and decided to read some of Foster's recent stuff as she made a blog post about Alina Li. Somewhere she is saying that if she loses some court case and faces a $10,000 judgement, she will be forced back into porn to pay it off ; which will lead her to get HIV which makes the judge a murderer. Yes, she thinks this way. My question, if she happens to be on the board, is why do you feel you have zero marketable skills to make money except sex? There are a lot of ways to make money that do not involve doing porn movies or working at a Nevada brothel.

Well, considering Avluv had a post scene interview with glorious praise for a particular Kink scene, and then posted on here how horrible she felt after, I think it is safe to say that if a girl says she loved the kink scene, it may just be to help her career. No shock there. Yes, some of the girls truly love it, but most of them don't. They do it for the money ,and there is nothing wrong with that! There are always days when we love our jobs, but also days when we fucking hate it. But, because we want our paycheck, we do what is required and tell our boss we are fantastic, and show up the next day. A porn career isn't much different than the rest of us. some days they love it, some days they hate it, but most days they will tell their boss and customers (us) that they love it so we keep buying. it is death for a girl's career if she says she hates it. So, I always take their praise of their scenes with a grain of salt. I just assume they love half their scenes and hate half their scenes . Noticed that she has deleted her twitter and also her personal Facebook page under her real name. Guess she definitely has no plans to come back. Was kind of holding out hope that maybe after a month or so that she would reconsider and just decide she just wanted a break. Oh well. She had posted quite a bit of her porn persona on her personal page, which was oddly widely accessible and not even private. Several friend from her hometown seemed shocked when she got into porn. Like I said, I don't have any insider knowledge and could care less, actually. Just a gut feeling that her deleting her twitter and also her Facebook account, which had ended up being a lot of "Alina Li" pictures, mixed with her private ones, was just a way for her to cut ties with her past. Who knows, though. Wish her well, though and glad for the scenes. Can't think of any other performer, ever, who made such an impression in filming for only a year. If anyone wants to wish her a Happy Birthday on her real birthday, it's February 22 (1994). It's not really a secret. I figured it out last February when I saw she was a Pisces and asked her. I've since seen it listed as her birthday on a few sites, so this isn't exactly breaking news.
